The Farsighted Network

Before we dive into the episode, have you seen our badass logo? Awesome designer Trais Colton Barhaug rocked that for us and you should go support him now! T-shirts, pins, and stickers are on their way.

On this 4th episode of Curtain Jerkers, Doug and Justin are joined by Justin LaBar of Wrestling Inc, Busted Open Radio, and IWC Wrestling in Pittsburgh to discuss Dr. Britt Baker DMD. But before he hops on, Doug and Justin chat about indie film Powerbomb, a wrestling centric thriller that features Britt in one of the supporting roles.

Check out the episodes and follow Justin LaBar’s exploits at his Twitter once you’re done!

And if you’re listening to this when it drops, check out IWC’s Super Indy 20 on October 16th, too!

We’ll be back next month with another great (or not-so-great) movie and more great wrestling.

On this 3rd episode of Curtain Jerkers, Doug and Justin join in on the CM Punk mania that has taken the industry by storm. Recorded just before his first match in damn near a decade. Two great matches and a solid indie horror film later, we truly had a great time taking CM Punk.

Join us on this episode to talk Punk vs. Joe 2 and the classic Punk/Cena match at Money in the Bank 2011. Great matches, solid movie, great times. Let us know what we missed and what you thought in the comments and please leave us some feedback if you feel so inspired!

We’ll be back next month with another great (or not-so-great) movie and another great match.

On our 2nd episode of Curtain Jerkers, Doug and Justin spend time with the late great “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. One of the wrestling best heels, Roddy also made a name for himself in the film world. It’s no secret that both Doug and Justin are big fans.

Before we tackle today’s feature presentation, the podcast starts with a chat on the fantastic Lovecraftian short film from 2015 called Portal to Hell. Then, the boys dive head first into John Carpenter’s They Live, with controversial and not-so-controversial takes on the sci-fi/horror gem.

The featured match is Wrestlemania 8’s classic Roddy match vs. Bret “The Hitman” Hart. The match is notable for several reasons and Doug has some great notes to share. And, get this… Roddy ACTUALLY loses.

We’ll be back next month with another great (or not-so-great) movie and another great match.

On the inaugural episode of Curtain Jerkers, Doug and Justin explain what a “curtain jerker” is, what to expect on the podcast, and dive right into some movie and wrestling talk.

Today’s feature presentation is the sometimes less heralded Rocky entry, Rocky III, which prominently features Mr. T, as well as featuring a fun, ridiculous, and classic scene with Hulk Hogan as Thunderlips, the vain and seemingly indestructible monster heel. The discussion tackles such important questions as why they named a character “Thunderlips” and why we don’t get more backstory about the best named character in the series, Clubber Lang.

The featured match is the tag team main event of the original Wrestlemania, pitting Hogan and T against Roddy Piper and Paul Orndoff. They discuss the spectacle that was this first Mania, as well as how much bigger wrestlers – at least WWF wrestlers of this era – are than regular people.
