The Farsighted Network

Before we dive into the episode, have you seen our badass logo? Awesome designer Trais Colton Barhaug rocked that for us and you should go support him now! T-shirts, pins, and stickers are on their way.

Thanks to Justin’s long time friend, Kwalified, a diehard wrestling fan and dope emcee hailing from Hawaii, for our great intro song.

Our 2nd Christmas episode and 14th episode overall, this month is all about Santa Mick! We dive into a couple classic Mick Foley matches before having director Tommy Avallone hop on to talk his fun holiday documentary, I am Santa Claus. Tommy’s quirky and unique visions really fit the niche vibe of Doug and Justin’s unified interest… and anyone who enjoys this pod is sure to enjoy Tommy and his docs!

Happy Holidays to everyone and thank you for listening! Enjoy you family and friends, watch a good movie, and check out some fun wresstling while you’re at it.

Support Tommy by following him on Twitter, heading to his website, and watching his new Barney doc on Peacock!

Next month, we plan to dive head first into the world of Lucha Libre, one of Doug’s favorite wrestling styles, so we are excited to hang out with you all again in January.

On this 13th episode, we go big… the 2002 blockbuster superhero flick from Sam Raimi, Spider-Man, and two classic matches from BONESAW himself, the Macho Man Randy Savage! In the rare episode where the movie and the matches are fantastic, Doug and Justin truly have a fun time talk about everything from Flair and Miss Elizabeth to the unique career of one Mr. Raimi.

We hope you have some fun with us here this month and we assure you that some great films and matches are ahead of us, too. Great episodes are planned for the coming months and we hope you come along for the ride.

Next month, we’re getting festive… hopefully with a guest or two. Stay tuned for a fun holiday wrestling extravaganza!

On this 12th episode, we celebrate spooky season with a WWE legend… sadly that legend’s movie output is pretty rough and his matches are only okay. But that’s okay, we still have a ton of fun taking about Mayor Kane, even if he is a dirtbag.

Here we pair an old Kane match (in his Unabom days) and a more classic one with WWE film production See No Evil. Mediocre wrestling and films are still fun to talk about though, so we hope you have a blast hanging out with us as we continue the Halloween celebration as part of The Farsighted’s Halloween Hangover week.

Next month, we’ll be here with better matches and a far better film when we tackle Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man and the Macho Man. So bone up on that screen gem and join us at the end of November for some better wrestling and a modern classic hero flick.

On this 11th episode, we move from our standard format for a special interview with the filmmaker of the new documentary Out in the Ring and a few of the wrestlers featured in the film. Joining us for this episode, recorded while the crew were together at Fantasia, are director Ry Levey and LGBTQ+ wrestlers Sonny Kiss, Mike Parrow, and Dani Jordyn. The 3 wrestlers and Ry talk about the film, the process of making the film, and what it’s like to be a queer wrestler in the evolving world of pro wrestling.

This was a very special one for Doug and Justin, who really felt like the film and this conversation shed a lot of light on things a lot of folk probably don’t think about. It was truly an honor to have this quartet of awesome folks join the Jerks for a little over an hour. Hopefully, they can all come back and talk more about their experiences and maybe even a few of their favorite films.

Make sure you follow al of the great guests at their social media links below and come back next month when we return to the “regularly scheduled program” for another great (or not-so-great) movie and more great (or not-so-great) wrestling.
