Is fashion art? Should fashion designers be eligible to receive the grants now given to the arts and culture industry? Here's the FASH Scoop: Dee Silkie is a Designer from the East Coast of Canada, currently living in Toronto. She talks about the financial cycle / burdens of a Designer and advocates strongly that the government should consider fashion as an art form in order to offer financial support to the industry. Dee also mentions her current project 'The Money Coat', which is an awareness piece illustrating how designers face the challenge of their money being tied up in inventory.
