Fat, a word that makes everyone cringe. A word that when neutrally used people automatically say "no you're not fat, you're beautiful". A word that is overly abused in "I feel fat" or "Do I look fat in this?" like phrases. Yet, a word that so many are boldly reclaiming! This episode I dive into when in history being fat started to become so negative, society's obsession with the it, and how some alternative terms can be more harmful than good. Whether you're a thin ally, a fat cutie yourself, or struggling to identify with either, listen in to learn how we all can take part in destigmatizing the word. Our society needs to do more than just reclaim this one descriptor, but it could be a great stepping stone.
