Holy Week is a great opportunity for us to continue our Catholic examination of conscience. A good Catholic examination of conscience can be a great help in making a new start in our life and faith. Spring is a good time to read through the items on our list and honestly reflect on our behavior for each item. I'll see you in church!

There are six different colors that Catholic Priests wear. You’ve noticed that during Lent the principle color is Violet. The Fourth Sunday of Lent is also known as Laetare Sunday and Priests will wear Rose. Rose represents subdued joy and is seldom worn. On this podcast I’ll discuss the norms of liturgical color.

The RCIA was developed by the Catholic Church for prospective converts to Catholicism who are above the age of infant baptism. For generations, we have been encouraged to abstain from something we regularly enjoy during Lent. Usually meat, alcohol or sweets. I encourage the Christian faithful to add to their daily agenda. Visit the sick or elderly. You may help out at a homeless shelter or food bank. Simply put, put kindness on your daily schedule. Let's discuss. Peace be with you. 

This past Wednesday was Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent. It was also one of the darkest days in our history. 17 people lost their lives as a deeply disturbed young man, heavily armed, went through a high school in Parkland, Florida randomly killing young, innocent, beautiful human beings. It's a difficult conversation to have, but it's one we all must discuss. I don't have the answers, but I have some thoughts that I'll share with you. Peace be with you.  

Let’s talk about Lent and why we begin the season with Ash Wednesday. Why do we apply ashes to the forehead? I hope to explain that to you today. Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of Lent, Christians replicate Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days. I hope to explain. Peace be with you.
