Ann Rohmer looks into Golden Rescue, Canada’s largest single breed rescue organization, which has launched an online campaign aimed at amending a new Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) ban. The campaign targets the newly imposed ban aimed at eliminating the spread of rabies, while also halting the ability of rescue groups to import dogs from vulnerable countries. Golden Rescue has saved more than 1,900 abandoned, abused, surrendered or displaced Golden Retrievers from countries such as Turkey and Egypt with zero cases of rabies.
