The Fellowship of the Nerds

The Fellowship of the Nerds officially kicks off its journey through the beloved USA Network series Psych as Tommy Grant joins longtime fans Connor VanDemark and Brandon for his very first watch-through of the show.

In this episode, the crew dives into the Pilot and “Spellingg Bee” (Season 1, Episode 2), exploring what made Psych an instant hit and why it remains a fan favorite nearly 20 years after its debut.

The Jersey Nerds discuss Shawn Spencer’s unique observational abilities, his hilarious decision to pose as a psychic detective, and the unforgettable chemistry between Shawn and Gus that drives the series. Tommy shares his first impressions as a newcomer to the show, while Connor and Brandon provide insight into the characters, relationships, and long-term story arcs that make Psych such a rewarding watch.

The drinks are poured, the plan is nonexistent, and somehow… the takes might be even better. In this unhinged episode of Drunken Cinema Corner, the Jersey Nerds dive headfirst into a free-flowing, booze-fueled conversation that bounces between film history, hot takes, and wild “what if” scenarios that Hollywood probably shouldn’t try—but definitely could.

Things get loose in the debut of Drunken Cinema Corner, where the Jersey Nerds crew—Tommy, Grant, Brandon, and Mitchel—crack open the drinks and let the takes fly.

In this episode:

• A savage breakdown of the Five Nights at Freddy’s films (no mercy given)
• Why video game movies keep missing the mark (with a few rare exceptions)
• A heated debate on theater etiquette (yes, phone users—you’re on notice)
• The future of movie theaters vs. streaming services like Netflix
• Nostalgic stories about unforgettable theater experiences (Inception, The Avengers, La La Land, and more)
• A chaotic “bad movie draft” featuring some truly cursed picks
• The crew’s ongoing mission: tackling IMDb’s Top 250—plus the worst movies they can find

Bottom line:

It’s messy. It’s loud. It’s hilarious. And it’s exactly what happens when film nerds mix strong opinions with stronger drinks.
