Jesus is a righteous King whose rule is absolute. But it does not conform to the rules of this world. Seeking first his Kingdom means doing life according to Jesus’ teaching and example, even when both are at odds with the world.

If God makes flowers so beautiful for such a short time, what beauty does he have in store for you? We live in a world of beauty, despite its brokenness. Worry lives in tomorrow. Hope lives in the now.

Worry does not add to our enjoyment of life nor can it change anything. The Lord is feeding us, do we recognize it, or are we too busy planning and fretting?

Jesus invites us to find rest and unburden ourselves in Him. He has compassion, mercy, and tenderness to the burdens we carry. But how do we rest in him? How do we give our burdens of the day over to him?

Nothing says family like sharing the table together. But even at Jesus’ table, there was conflict in the family. Along with the breaking of bread, there was also the breaking of fellowship. This truth is comforting in a season where some Fellowship family members are leaving. It brings us back to the truth of the table: we are all sinful, prone to conflict and in need God’s grace.

As a family of faith, we are like a team--each with an individual leg of a common race to complete. Like Jesus, our Faith Race is full of hardship and suffering. How do we keep running when we are tired, discouraged, and feel like giving up? Hebrews 12 gives us clear insight: look at Jesus.
