As Christians, we must respond to COVID-19 distinctively. COVID19’s impact demands a response. But even more, from the Church it demands a response that is a distinctively Christian one. What is the difference between a worldly response to this pandemic and a distinctively Christian one?

God made us to flourish, but sin makes us perish. The only road back to flourishing is through discipleship to Jesus. Many profess to believe in Jesus, but few actually live lives that flourish in the way Jesus says is, and models as, possible. How can we flourish more as disciples of Jesus? Today, we look to Peter and Jesus, himself, for direction.

New Horizon Church and Fellowship combine to celebrate our unity in the Body of Christ. As we combine everything from vocalists to ushers, we will also combine the teaching of the Word. Pastor Joe will preach a 10 minute set-up from 1Cor 12 about why we are one despite our differences, and Pastor Mike will bring it home with a 20 minute word from 1Cor 13 about how there can be no unity without love.

The story of the widow and the oil is one of abundance, not scarcity. It shows us how God knows our needs and gives lavishly to meet them. However, to tap this abundance requires that we partner with God by acting in faith. When it comes to our money, do we act in trust and faith?

As we pray for, eat with and serve on those people God has placed around us, we must also be willing to share our story of grace with them. Though this sounds intimidating, it is often easier than you think with more impact than you imagine.
