Hi Friend! After dropping the question box in my IG stories, I got a lot of feedback from you guys on what you wanted to hear about in solo episodes. So, in this solo episode, I discuss the topic of quitting a job that you're not passionate about anymore. I emphasize the importance of listening to your inner voice and understanding the driving factors behind your desire for change. I also talk through the importance of having open communication with your significant other and encourage you to explore various ways to pursue your passions and make money, such as starting a side hustle or creating an online business. I highlight the value of learning new skills and being okay with starting from scratch. Remember: your employer does not define their entire career trajectory.

Unpopular Opinion: Most people do not know what they are doing when it comes to interviewing potential employees. Just because you have a have a Manager, Director, VP or C-Suite title does not make you qualified to interview potential employees. The reality is that most people have not been trained or taught exactly how to interview a potential employee. The good news- it's a skill you can learn! It's best practice to be prepared for the interview with questions. 

In today's episode, I had the opportunity to sit down with Interviewing Expert and Co-Founder of Expert Interviewers Lorna Erickson. We cover:

How few companies actually train their managers how to interview

What interview questions should you ask 

The most shocking and worst interview question she has ever seen asked

For nearly two decades, Lorna has dedicated her work to studying and practicing different interview techniques. How did she become an expert? She developed an interviewing case study and conducted more than 5,000 interviews to examine and practice different methods. It was during that time, Lorna learned the tools and techniques that yielded the highest results in both interviewing efficiently and hiring accurately.   

Shortly after finding her expertise, came her desire to share that information with others. Lorna then began creating and delivering custom interviewer training for both small teams and multi-billion dollar companies globally. She has an obvious passion for what she does, and in her trainings she uses a balance of humor and real life experiences to educate teams and give them clear tools to help them hire better.
