“It wasn’t my fault. It was my choice.” We make tons of decisions every day, both large and small. Every single one of those decisions leads to an outcome and it is that vast collection of outcomes that shapes who we are, and who we will ultimately become. So, it can be incredibly hard to face when one of those decisions begins to weigh on you as a regret. In this episode we talk about regret: how it occurs, the ways that it holds us back, and how to shift your perspective in order to embrace your regrets as your teachers on a path to growth. We welcome you to introduce compassion and mindfulness into your self talk so that you can practice self-forgiveness and employ intention into your future decision making. Finally, we encourage you to shift your perspective from blame to choice, empowering yourself to own the decisions that you made. Because, “You cannot step into your wholeness if there’s parts of yourself that you hate” Three ways to reframe your perspective to a place of forgiveness: Remove judgment by reminding yourself your regretful decisions were made by a past version of you, a woman who did her best with the knowledge that she had. Employ compassion for that past you, for she brought you the wisdom you have today. Look for the lessons! See your regrets as your teachers that will lead you to who you want to become. Allow yourself to move through the emotions that these regrets make you feel. Feel the grief and sadness in your body so that you can process it and move forward. Trust is one of the most simple yet challenging foundations to implement in your life, yet it can make a world of difference in how safe you feel in your relationships, your business, and in your own life. This week we tackle all things trust: why it’s important, why it can be so hard to cultivate, and the beautiful comfort you will find when you begin to sink into trust. Trust begins with a choice. It requires you to do the work of self-healing, and it forces you to learn the limits of what you can control in life. It is only from there that you can begin to grow a trusting strength within yourself, a strength that will benefit not only you but the people that you love as well. The journey to trust, however, can be a struggle. To help, we’re here to help you build your ‘Trust Tool Kit’, which will aid you in building that bedrock of trust and sustaining it when fear and doubt overwhelm you and your trust begins to slip away. If you find yourself struggling to trust, follow this exercise: Find something outside of you that you know you can trust. The rising of the sun. The shifting of the tides. Visualize it and trust in its certainty. When you are ready, ask yourself ‘what is the absolute worst that could happen’ and then realize, even if that does happen, you will be okay. Finally, make the choice to trust in the now. Ground yourself in the present, trust in your breath,and sink into the trust that the universe will lead you to the lessons that you need.
