January 01, 2025Indie Artist Molly Durand Is On Air!Molly Durand has worked with the LadySmith Black Mumbazzo choir and famed gospel composer and conductor Richard Smallwood. On multiple occasions, she has been a featured soloist for the Illinois Senate Inauguration and the Glen Ellen Children’s Choir at Carnegie Hall in New York City. She has performed on the New York lot at CBS Studios and in shows throughout Los Angeles at venues such as the House of Blues, Hotel Café, The Green Door, Mbar, El Cid, The Regent Beverly Wilshire, The Beverly Hilton, Tangier, and the Piano Bar, where she held residency as a featured artist. Molly Durand was chosen to read and sing for the part of Anne Wilson of HEART in their musical review: Kick It Out, written by Nancy and Anne Wilson. This was showcased at Playtone beside Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. Molly Durand also toured with Chicago's Second City as a company member performing sketch comedy and improv. She has produced and directed in her own short films and sketches and produced a horror indie film as well. Molly produced live plays in LA and was a stage manager in NY,NY. Most recently she hosted a Variety Show in LA showcasing diverse talent. Molly was lucky enough to be able to work with Holland Taylor on her one woman show ANN about the incredible Ann Richards. At a young age, she had the opportunity to work with some of the greatest classical conductors of the 20th century, Sir Gorge Solti and Christoph Eschenbach, alongside the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus at Orchestra Hall and Medina Temple. As an adult, Molly Durand was awarded scholarship to study voice at The De Paul Music School. During her tenure, she performed the American premiere of The Marriages Between Zones 3, 4 & 5 by renowned minimalist composer Phillip Glass, who mentored the production and rehearsals. While at DePaul she was in the Theater School production of the Vagina Monologues and then also played Mrs. Lovett in Steven Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, at the Music School there.
