The Fight Game Podcast: Pro Wrestling, MMA & Boxing

Ryan and Paul are back with all the news in the world of MMA. They start off by talking about Kayla Harrison re-signing with PFL, a potential fight with Cris Cyborg that could be co-promoted with Bellator and maybe even on PPV. They then run down the results of all the shows from this past week from Bellator, Eagle FC and, of course UFC. Ryan has a mini-rant on the Bellator matchmaking incompetence and they also talk about two great rounds that happened on both shows and the UFC main event that may have been the worst one in a while. They then run down a stacked show this coming weekend in the UFC's return to London which is headlined by local favorite Tom Aspinal against long-time heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov. Both guys talk about the fights they're most looking forward to on this card. They finish the show running down some quick news hits and fight announcements including a hardcore fans' dream fight between Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson that was just made for May 7.

A fresh episode of The WRAP is now live for your listening pleasure! Keila Cash, Scott Young, and extra special guest Joey Karni from The Angle Podcast recap the week that was in WWE. They discuss Big E’s neck injury and marvel at his unwavering positivity that has brought the wrestling community together in recent days before diving into the stellar Triple Threat Match for the Raw Tag Team Championship featuring Alpha Academy vs. Kevin Owens/Seth Rollins vs. RK-BRO.

Edge’s heel turn feels underbaked due to WWE’s need to overproduce every little thing while the crew wonders what Stone Cold Steve Austin will do on the KO Show at WrestleMania. They also predict whether Cody Rhodes will finally make his debut on Monday Night Raw as the show emanates from Jacksonville which is the perfect setting for a variety of reasons.

The trio heaps praise on LA Knight for being the number two babyface on NXT 2.0 before giving flowers to Dolph Ziggler for winning a major championship ahead of Stand and Deliver. Pete Dunne’s name change sends the show into a tailspin, but things get back on track with the Guilty Pleasure/Avoid at all Costs picks of the week to end things on a high note. They also dug deeper into the dynamic of his relationship with Antonio Inoki and their rivalry throughout the ’70s and ’80, and talked of the nature of both AJPW and NJPW’s identity or philosophical roots and the repeated theme of establishment vs. anti-establishment in Baba vs. Inoki.
