  • Write That Down! Antonio Inoki, Part Two: Happy Days
Here is part two of Fumi & Justin’s profile on Antonio Inoki. The two focused on Inoki’s wrestling career in the late 1960s and early 1970s with JWA, when Inoki and Shohei “Giant” Baba formed a super-team in the wake of Rikidozan’s passing, BI Platoon. They also covered Inoki’s first big singles win a few years later when he beat Johnny Valentine for the UN championship, or the same title that’s ⅓ of AJPW’s Triple Crown today.
Additionally, Fumi & Justin talked in detail about the dissolution of JWA in the early ’70s and the formation of both NJPW (Inoki + Karl Gotch) and AJPW (Baba + the Funk Brothers) in 1972, plus Inoki’s historic 1975 “Broadway” match against Billy Robinson, the debut of Inoki’s Octopus Hold, comparisons with Baba as a singles wrestler throughout the year, VHS and BETA-MAX talk and lots more.
The next Write That Down! will cover Inoki’s career from the late ’70s into the 1980s, introducing new players into the mix, like Stan Hansen, Tiger Jeet Singh, Hulk Hogan, Bruiser Brody, and Andre the Giant. We’ll also go into more detail on Inoki’s unrecognized WWWF World Heavyweight Championship win over Bob Backlund.

  • Pound 4 Pound - Ilunga Makabu Vs. Thabiso Mchunu Look Back And Preview
This week, Carlos and Robert react to the news of Juan Francisco Estrada withdrawing from his fight with Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez due to COVID-19 and Julio Cesar Martinez coming in as Gonzalez’s new opponent in what is now a mouth-watering fight for DAZN in March. They look back on this past weekend’s Showtime boxing card where Mark Magsayo scored an upset win over Gary Russell Jr. to win the WBC featherweight title and talk about what is next for the now-former champion. They then look back on the excellent first fight between Ilunga Makabu and Thabiso Mchunu in 2015 in anticipation for their rematch for the WBC cruiserweight title this weekend on a Don King-promoted PPV in Ohio, plus give their predictions for the rematch 7 years in the making.

  • In The Clinch - No UFC this weekend? No problem.
Ryan and Paul are back with a quick recap of UFC 270. For their full show review, check out the Fight Game Media Network + and the bonus show they did Saturday night with Dean Jenkinson. The latter card has a heavyweight title unification bout between Ryan Bader and Valentin Moldavsky in the biggest fight of the week. • The Boom - Blood Feud
James and Kevin are back with a look at the week in AEW, starting with a discussion of WWE's attempt to paint their competition as blood thirsty in the press. The hypocrisy is clear, but do they have a point? Also, they run down a Dynamite that may be better in hindsight than it seemed that night; the Adam Cole/Britt Baker power couple, CM Punk's small package, Adam Page's next challenger, Brody King's debut, whether or not the Briscoes and FTR will ever meet inside an AEW ring, and tons more!
