The Fight Game Podcast: Pro Wrestling, MMA & Boxing

Ryan Fredericks and Paul Fontaine are back to go over the week that was and is to come in the world of MMA. This past weekend at the Apex, we saw a new strawweight contender emerge as Amanda Lemos scored an impressive KO win on ESPN+ over Marina Rodriguez. She tied the UFC record for finishes in the strawweight division and likely earned a shot at whoever emerges from this coming weekend's UFC 281 PPV as champion between Weili Zhang and Carla Esparza. Speaking of that show, the guys do an extensive preview of it, headlined by Israel Adesanya defending his middleweight title against the only man to ever knock him out in combat sports Alex Pereira, who holds two wins over Adesanya in kickboxing. In the question of the week segment, the guys speculate on how Ben Askren would've done if he'd coming into UFC during his prime instead of hte end of his career and in the "We Have to Talk About Segment", the guys discuss an emerging scandal involving betting that is currently being looked into by UFC and it's regulating bodies. The news of the week features a main event for the UFC's upcoming South Korea show, the Mackhachev/Volkanovski upcoming fight being in jeopardy and Sean O'Malley looking for an interim title fight.

Ryan Frederick and Paul Fontaine are back to go over the week that was and is to come in the world of MMA. This past weekend saw Arnold Allen become the beneficiary of an unfortunate injury stoppage of Calvin Kattar to put himself in position for a title eliminator at 145 in the main event of the ESPN+ show from the UFC Apex. The guys go over that whole show with their 3 stars and all the other news from the show. They then preview this coming weekend's UFC card, headlined by a key strawweight fight between Marina Rodriguez and Amanda Lemos as well as two big name welterweights in Neil Magny and Daniel Rodriguez squaring off in the co-main event. Paul also has his weekly UFC ROI picks, which have been doing very well lately. In a fun segment, Ryan and Paul talk about music they would use for their walkouts if they were fighters and also read off some suggestions from Facebook and Twitter on that subject as well. They close the show with the news of the week which includes an update on UFC 282 and Jon Jones, Nate Diaz potentially fighting Jake Paul and how GSP could be potentially be involved in that madness.
