Have you ever lost something like your hearing?  How did you handle it?  What about punching donuts while journaling?  I know I do for sure.  This week I discuss one of my highly recommended films of this past year with my friend Tara of Besoulfish podcast, Sound of Metal.  This is a movie about trauma and loss, but also about transition and self discovery.  In the end we both agree, suffering is for everyone and it's really nice to sit in public with the sound off sometimes.

It was Christmas Day and my wife and I had some free time without our many children, so what better thing to do than watch a Classic Western!  There's nothing like films that take place in the 1800's to make you appreciate a Covid Christmas.  We talk about being a sex worker in the old west, men with a desire to be gunslingers and killers, and Gene Hackman always doing the best acting out of everyone.

Cozy up and watch Unforgiven by Clint Eastwood in 1992 and find some gratitude for not being in a whore house.

It's Christmas!  So, what's better than a French Film about impossible love!  A woman on fire ( not literally of course) and a sneaky game of "Let's see if you can paint my portrait." are up for the chat this week.  My good friend Julie Fisher returns to discuss this amazing pick!  Portrait of a Lady on Fire has more going on underneath the amazing imagery and beautiful acting.  I'm definitely a better human after watching it.
