Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to THE VISUAL PROMPT! In this series, Jared has given us a painting that he saw in a museum recently. He gave us the task to pick a film based on the emotions the painting elicited us, a film that reminded us of something we’ve seen in cinema, or however we wanted to interpret this. Hey there Snobbies, we are at the end of all things….VAL. This is the final Val film and Jared’s pick. He brings us a CLASSIC choice from director Stephen Hopkins, “The Ghost and the Darkness.” LION, LION, LION, LION! This film was a major film from Eric and Jared’s childhood. We really enjoyed talking through this film and all of the Lion and African glory. It can’t really be seen, but Caleb dresses up in traditional African clothing and it’s….something to behold. Snobbies, this was a difficult watch. We are ending our journey through the senses with Hearing. This pick was agreed on by all the snobs and Directed by Jonathan Glazer, “The Zone of Interest.” This film follows a German officer who is in charge of the largest death camp in charge of exterminating the Jewish people, Auschwitz-Birkenau. We talk through the effective soundtrack and horrific sound design that truly gives this film a feeling that can only be seen and heard to truly be experienced. If you’ve seen this film, enjoy the episode. If you haven’t, we strongly recommend that you watch this film. It. Is. Necessary.

Snobbies. We have arrived at the fourth sense, TOUCH. This was Jared's pick and a Film Snobs first! We have never done a documentary film before. This film comes from legendary Director Werner Herzog, Land of Silence and Darkness. Filmed early on in his career, Werner gets up close and personal with the deaf-blind community.
