On Sunday night the 50th annual Juno’s celebrated another huge year for Canadian music with The Weeknd taking home 5 awards including artist of the year and Justin Bieber who opened the show with his performance of ‘Somebody’! Shortly after the ceremony he dropped a brand new remix of ‘Peaches’ with Ludacris, Usher and Snoop Dogg.

While we get ready for new music from Ed Sheeran later this month, ever since the ‘Friends’ reunion he’s been hanging out with longtime friend Courtney Cox so much you’d think they were quarantining together! Over the weekend they performed a hilarious rendition of Elton John’s ‘Tiny Dancer’ dedicated to Lisa Kudrow sat at a piano alongside Brandi Carlile and Mr. ‘Rocket Man’ himself! Lisa even responded with her reaction on Instagram too! 

Joe Jonas might soon be taking a page out of his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift's book. He recently expressed new interest in revisiting the Jonas Brothers' debut album It's About Time, and re-recording it just like Taylor’s doing with her own catalog

Billie Eilish has released a new song called “Lost Cause” and with it a music video as well! This is a totally different vibe than what we got with her video for Your Power. She went from dark and alone to fun with a group of friends.  Also in the video you can see that Billie and her friends are wearing Skims, the line created by Kim Kardashian. All of this is making us that much more excited for Billie’s new album to come out in July.

Lorde was trending on Twitter since there are rumours going around that her new single could be closer than we thought. There is a fan account that tweeted that the rumour is that Lorde’s first single she is going to release is called “solar power”. Fans took this and ran. Let us be totally clear in the fact that none of this has been confirmed by Lorde or her people. Lorde also started trending last week when she was listed as a performer for the Primavera Sound Festival taking place next year. She has said she is working on new music and that her new album is going to be inspired from a trip she took to Antarctica. 

Lady Gaga is teaming up with Versace to release a pride month capsule collection. This is also in celebration of the 10th anniversary of her Born This Way album. A portion of the proceeds that are sold from this collection are going to go to Gaga’s Born This Way foundation. This comes after Gaga announced that she is going to released a 10th anniversary version of Born This Way that is going to be in new packaging and will have six reimaged versions of songs from the album created by artists representing and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community. 

Speaking of Pride, like last year there are going to be less in person Pride events but we are lucky enough to get a YouTube Pride livestream! It was announced that that is going to be taking place with Demi Lovato and Olly Alexander on June 25th. It is going to be a six hour event that is also going to be raising money for The Trevor Project and the UK based LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity, akt. 

Ed Sheeran has been teasing that new music is coming and now he posted a photo on Instagram of him playing instruments with Courtney Cox with the date that says June 25th. What does this mean? Are we getting a collab between the two of them? Will she be on his next album? This just leaves us with so many more questions.

Harry Styles Launching Beauty Brand? Taylor Swift BREAKS Vinyl Record! BTS Turns 8!

You are now going to really be able to smell like Harry Styles since he just submitted a trademark to launch his own cosmetic and fragrance line! 

Nothing has been announced yet but the paperwork he filed has been leaked online that shows he is listed as “director”. Harry has established himself with his style so it does make sense he would want to expand more in this department and there is no way that something like this would fail. Soon enough we could be getting ready for our day with our Harry makeup, maybe some Harry nail polish, before we spray ourselves with our Harry perfume and head out the door. 

Taylor Swift is out here breaking more records, and this one is for sales of a record. She sold more than 40 thousand copies of her album Evermore on vinyl in the first three days of sales which gave it the biggest sales week for a vinyl album since MRS Data started tracking in 1991. Vinyls have been making a comeback over the last while and have even started outselling CDs again for the first time in decades. Billie Eilish could be on her way to beating Taylor’s record though with her new album “Happier Than Ever” coming out in July which is going to be available in six different colours.

BTS is celebrating 8 years of when the group originally formed! The BTS Army is spending the month of June celebrating their favourite group with the use of the hashtag #RollingUpToFesta which means that BTS Festa has officially begun! On June 13 and 14th BTS are holding a two-day livestream event called BTS 2021 MUSTER SOWOOZOO all in celebration of the 8th anniversary. They are planning on putting on skits and performing a bunch of songs and you can buy tickets for it right now. There is a full Fest timeline you can check out so you can keep up with everything happening this month to celebrate BTS! 

We are going to be able to listen to Miley Cyrus like never before. She has teamed up with Magnum Ice Cream to release her first 8D performance online. It is going to be released on June 10th and you are going to want to listen with a good set of headphones for this one because it is going to give you the audio experience of a lifetime. And with a voice like Miley’s we cannot wait for that. She teased fans with a promotional video on her socials today so you can check that out in the time being!

The Friends reunion is now available to watch! Here in Canada you can watch it on Crave. Lisa Kudrow and Lady Gaga singing the famous song “Smelly Cat” from the show. The rumours of Justin Bieber dressing up as Sputnik were in fact correct. 

We also saw BTS as part of the special as well. It’s a big week for BTS for several reasons. Their meal is now available to get at McDonalds in Canada. The Butter music video broke the record for the most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube - a record that they already held since the release of their song Dynamite.

Niall Horan and Anne Marie released their song together which is called “Our Song” ! Shawn Mendes posted a story on Instagram of him showing off his skills and tagging Niall in it since Niall plays a lot of golf in his free time. 

Kelly Clarkson is sliding into the prime location time since she is going to be taking over Ellen Degeneres’ time slot once The Ellen Show wraps. Kelly started her talk show back in 2019 and is currently in her second season. Her show has already been renewed until at least 2023 because of the success she has had.

The lineup for the Primavera Sound Festival has been announced for next year that is going to be taking place in Barcelona and this lineup is unreal. Lorde started trending as soon as the lineup was announced since we haven’t heard from her since her album Melodrama came out 5 years ago now. On the festival’s website they said “Lorde who will emerge from her retirement with her third album after her unforgettable visit in 2018”. But the website has since been updated and just says “Lorde, who will emerge from her retirement after her unforgettable visit in 2018”. 

Halsey, Benny Blanco and Khalid released the song “Eastside” in 2018 and are now getting sued by artists who are claiming the song is a totally rip off of their song that is called “Loveless”. Konstantine Lois and Shane Williams wrote the song for the group American XO that Shane is a part of that came out in 2015. They claim the song is similar not only with their identical notes but the intervals, tempo and all around similar beat. Ed Sheeran is also getting sued since he is credited as a writer on the song as well. 

Lady Gaga received the key to West Hollywood this weekend in celebration of her Born This Way album turning 10 years old. May 23rd is now Born This Way Day! She was there to celebrate and accept the key where she was celebrated for the cultural impact the album had on the LGBTQ+ community. She gave a speech telling the community that they have been a key to her heart for a long time. 

Lil Nas X helped end the season of SNL by being the musical guest on Saturday night and during his steamy performance he happened to rip his pants. He was a guest on Jimmy Fallon last night and talked about the experience explaining that he was trying to dip low on the pole when all of a sudden he felt air.
