Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn Spears took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to share a message of support.

“Since the day I was born, I’ve only loved and adored and supported my sister,” Jamie Lynn

“I have made a very conscious choice in my life to only participate in [Britney’s] life as a sister.

“Maybe I didn’t support her the way the public would like me to, with a hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you that I’ve supported my sister long before there was a hashtag, and I’ll support her long after.”

“I felt like until my sister was able to speak for herself and say what she felt she needed to say publicly, it wasn’t my place and it wasn’t the right thing to do,” said Jamie Lynn. “But now that she’s very clearly spoken and said what she needed to say, I feel like I can follow her lead and say what I feel I need to say.”

Christina Aguilera has also weighed in on Britney Spears’ heartbreaking plea last week to end the conservatorship she has been under since 2008.

Aguilera, whose debut album came out seven months after Spears’ first album, shared a message of support Monday via Instagram Stories.

“It is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish,” wrote the 40-year-old singer.

“To be silenced, ignored, bullied or denied support by those ‘close’ to you is the most depleting, devastating and demeaning thing imaginable. The harmful mental and emotional damage this can take on a human spirit is nothing to be taken lightly. Every woman must have the right to her own body, her own reproductive system, her own privacy, her own space, her own healing and her own happiness.”

In her message, Aguilera said the “conviction and desperation of this plea for freedom leads me to believe that this person I once knew has been living without compassion or decency from those in control.”

Aguilera concluded: “To a woman who has worked under conditions and pressure unimaginable to most, I promise you she deserves all of the freedom possible to live her happiest life. My heart goes out to Britney. She deserves all the TRUE love and support in the world.”

Aguilera and Spears – along with *NSYNC’s Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez and Canada’s Ryan Gosling – were part of Disney's The All New Mickey Mouse Club before finding fame.

Halsey excited music fans across the world yesterday when she shared a billboard announcing her latest album If I Can’t Have Love I Want Power.

Little more is known about the project, other than it is produced by legendary artists Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails Fame

#CardiB is expecting her second child! During the BET Awards last night she came out for a performance with Migos and showed off her baby bump. She confirmed the announcement with a photo on her socials. This is her second child with husband Offset. While at the BET Awards Cardi was nominated for 5 awards. She went home with Best Collaboration for WAP with Megan Thee Stallion, as well as Video of the Year for the same song. (00:17)

#EdSheeran confirmed that he has recorded new vocals on #TaylorSwift’s re-recorded version of her song “Everything Has Changed” for Taylor’s Version of Red that is coming out. Ed said that he has already recorded the new version for Red and that Taylor has a lot more surprises in store. He also made the announcement that he wrote a song for BTS’ new album. He wrote a song for their 2019 album “Make It Right” so this isn’t the first time he has worked with the group (00:49)

#LilNasX did an Egyptian performance of his song “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” while at the BET Awards that was pretty steamy. But it’s Lil Nas X, what else did we expect? He was dressed in a pharaoh inspired gold kilt and neck brace combo. The performance included a dance number and he ended with a kiss between him and one of his backup dancers. This brought a ton of praise from fans for using his platform knowing so many eyes were on him to make a statement and we love him for it (01:32)

Courtney Love is calling out Olivia Rodrigo, saying that the singer stole an idea from her band Hole’s album “Live Through This” album cover that came out in 1994. The cover features a crying Prom Queen holding up a bouquet of flowers. Olivia has promotional photos for her upcoming “Sour Prom Concert Film” where she is seen holding a bouquet of flowers, dressed as a prom queen with mascara running down her face (02:09)

Britney Spears spoke to a judge in her most recent conservatorship case and we learned a ton of new information about her situation. This is the first time that Britney has spoken about the 13 year conservatorship publicly. Her dad Jamie Spears first became her conservator in 2008 when Britney went through a supposed mental breakdown. 

A lot of people remember this time as when Britney shaved her head and she was seen hitting a paparazzi’s vehicle with an umbrella. I say “supposed” because based on what we learned about the abuse that she suffered as well as how she was portrayed in the media at that time it’s not fair to say she did in fact have a mental breakdown. 

Since then Britney has been placed into this conservatorship. This is something that is fairly easy to get into especially in the state of California but nearly impossible to get out of. We have known that Britney’s dad has had control decisions she makes in her life and her finances but no one knew exactly how bad, until yesterday. 

In the 20 minute statement she read to the judge which has now been shared online Britney talks about how she is miserable in this position. That she cries every day and is depressed. She expressed her frustrations about how the courts have let her dad and her management continue to abuse her and said they deserve to be in jail for how they have treated her. 

There were other points she brought up that have shocked people around the world. She claimed that she is not allowed to go anywhere without approval, she was forced to do her Las Vegas Residency and take Lithium at that time. 

She has been forced to wear an IUD that prevents her from getting pregnant even though her and her boyfriend want to have a child together. They aren’t even allowed to get married, or even drive in her boyfriend’s car. She is fighting to have her father who is a conservator of her finances and estate, and a woman named Jodi Montgomery who is a co-conservator of her person since 2019, removed from their roles for abuse of power. Britney said that it is illegal to make money off of someone in a conservatorship and that is exactly what has happened in this case.

There has been no update since Britney’s statement yesterday and we don’t know when the judge will make her decision on the status of Britney’s conservatorship. Anytime this has gone to court in the past Britney has not gained back anymore freedom and because of the laws in place it could still prove difficult. The Free Britney movement has grown exponentially the last few years and many are rallying to have the law surrounding conservatorships changed in order to help Britney in her case and anyone else who has found themselves in a similar situation.

T-Pain took to social media Tuesday to defend Usher after he came under fire for sparking T-Pain’s “four-year depression.”

In the “Auto-Tune” episode of the Canadian series This Is Pop, which aired in March on CTV, T-Pain recalled being taken aside on an airplane by Usher in 2013.

“He was like, ‘I want to tell you something, man’ … He sounded real concerned. He was like, ‘Man, you kinda f’ ed up music.’ I didn’t understand. Usher was my friend,” T-Pain shared. “He was like, ‘Nah, man, you really f’ d up music for real singers.’

“Literally at that point, I couldn’t listen. Is he right? Did I f up music? That is the very moment – and I don’t think I realized that for a long time – that’s the very moment that started a four-year depression for me.”

After the episode streamed in the U.S., many fans slammed Usher on social media.

On Tuesday, T-Pain said he still loves and respects Usher. “Telling that story was in no way meant to disrespect that man,” he tweeted. “Ppl talk about me 24/7 but when it comes from someone you truly respect it hits very different.”

 

Trick Daddy’s restaurant in Miami Gardens, Florida is taking a lickin’ this week after the rapper criticized Beyoncé’s vocal talent.

The 46-year-old, whose real name is Maurice Young, said during a Clubhouse session that “Beyoncé don’t write music and barely can sing”

Fans of Beyonce are responding by posting negative reviews of Sunday’s Eatery, a restaurant Trick Daddy opened in 2019.

“It was so nasty. I had such high expectations,” reads one Google review. “There was so much hair in my meal and the staff member told me to get over it.” Another reads: “A maggot crawled out of my mashed potatoes, a roach landed on my steak and a caterpillar came out of my asparagus.”

Trick Daddy’s supporters are countering with five-star reviews. “All y’all need to quit lyin like this man food nasty,” wrote one person.

Meanwhile, Trick Daddy is not backing down.

“What I said was, I don’t think Beyoncé can sing,” he told a Miami radio station, “and that Beyoncé is to R&B what Jay-Z is to the state of hip hop in New York at the time, when Jay-Z … considered himself as the king of hip-hop, the dope of rap.”

Trick Daddy said he has a right to express an opinion. “Beyoncé ain’t Stephanie Mills. She ain’t Patti LaBelle. She ain’t Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey."

 

Why Don’t We member Jonah Marais is asking for fans’ help to recover his personal journal, which was stolen on Sunday.

In an Instagram Story on Tuesday, the 23-year-old singer said the journal “containing song lyrics and my thoughts from the last 6 months” was in a backpack taken from the Hotel Via in San Francisco while he was attending a baseball game.

Marais shared several images from security cameras showing a man walking away with his backpack as well as two bags of camera gear and clothing owned by his friend, music video director Jason Koenig.

“Maybe this man needs our stuff more than we do, but some of it is irreplaceable,” Marais wrote. “I’d love my journal back.”

The singer added that he and Koenig, whose camera gear is reportedly valued at more than $50,000, filed a police report but are hoping his 2.1 million Instagram followers can help identify the suspect.

“I know it’s a long shot but maybe you guys can help.”

 

Chris Brown is under investigation for an alleged assault on a woman in his home last Friday.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to a report of an argument at the 32-year-old singer’s house. TMZ reported that an unidentified woman alleged that Brown hit her in the head. No injuries were reported and no arrest was made.
