BTS’ smooth new song BUTTER  has topped the U.S. singles chart for the seventh consecutive week.

"We can’t believe this is really happening to us," read a tweet on the group's account. "Thank you SO MUCH."

Butter is the longest-running No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 by a group since Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men had a 16-week run with “One Sweet Day” in 1995.

The track, of course has a canadian connection was co-written by Calgary native Jenna Andrews.

Among those celebrating the success of “Butter” is the American Butter Institute. Spokesperson Alan Bjerga told Billboard: “It obviously doesn’t hurt to have your product associated with the top band’s song of the summer … to have arguably the biggest band on the globe giving a thumbs-up in song can’t be anything but good.”

“Butter” is No. 11 on this week’s Billboard Canadian Hot 100 chart, where Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” is in the top spot for its second week.

Doja Cat took a tumble Saturday while performing in Miami – and she doesn’t care who knows it.

“Somebody send me the video of me falling last night,” the 25-year-old singer tweeted on Sunday.

Fans who caught the moment on camera were happy to oblige.

Doja Cat was dancing  to Rico Nasty’s part on her 2018 track “Tia Tamera” when she lost her balance and fell backwards, hitting the stage with a thud. She played it off like a champ though, kept going and was soon back on her feet.

Two very different Canadian artists are included on the summer playlist of former U.S. president Barack Obama.

Among the tracks on Obama’s very eclectic list is 1976’s “Coyote” by Joni Mitchell and this year’s “Wants and Needs” by Drake ft. Lil Baby.

Obama’s playlist also includes songs from artists like Jazmine Sullivan, The Rolling Stones, Simply Red, Louis Armstrong and Silk Sonic.

Canadians are regulars on Obama’s yearly playlists - Last year, Obama's playlist also included songs by Canadians PARTYNEXTDOOR and Andy Shauf and in 2019 it had tracks by Daniel Caesar and Shawn Mendes. Thanks, Obama.

#JustinBieber hit up Las Vegas this past weekend, performing three times over 24 hours at the Wynn resort. Bieber kicked things off with his Friday night concert at the 1,500-capacity Encore Theater, where he performed 18 songs – including the new single “Stay,” for which he was joined on stage by collaborator #TheKidLAROI.

This was Justin’s first concert in front of a live audience in four years and his first full-length performance since a virtual New Year’s Eve concert.

According to various reports, Bieber then hit up XS Nightclub and did a five-song set. Finally - On Saturday, Justin gave ANOTHER surprise performance of a few of his hits at Delilah, a new supper club at Wynn - again, with the Kid LAROI. 

#Blink-182’s #MarkHoppus updated fans on Saturday about his cancer battle, sharing that this week he will “take a test that may very well determine if I live or die.” 

Sharing a scan that shows a tumour, the 49-year-old musician vowed: “I’m going to bear this through chemotherapy or through bone marrow transplants, but either way I’m determined to kick cancer’s ass directly in the nuts.”

Hoppus revealed on June 23 that he has been undergoing chemotherapy for “the past three months,” although he did not reveal the specific type of cancer nor what stage it’s at. 

#DuaLipa will make her acting debut in Argylle, a spy thriller with a cast that includes Canada’s Catherine O’Hara. The movie is based on the forthcoming debut novel of the same name by Ellie Conway. Filming begins next month in Europe. Dua Lipa will also record the Argylle theme song and contribute to the score.

​​Madonna has officially joined the #FreeBritney movement.

“Britney we coming to get you our of jail!,” Madonna wrote in an Instagram Story late Thursday.

Madonna, who shared a photo showing her wearing a tank top emblazoned with “Britney Spears,” wrote: “Give this woman her life back. Slavery was abolished so long ago! Death to the greedy patriarchy that has been doing this to women for centuries.

“This is a violation of human rights!”

Dua Lipa has been accused of posting a photo of herself on social media “without permission or authorization” from the owner of the photo.

New York-based Integral Images Inc. filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the pop star in California on July 6, alleging that Lipa “improperly and illegally” posted the image on her Instagram in early February 2019.

The company alleged that Lipa “takes an active and pervasive role in the content” on her Instagram, which it said is “monetized in that it contains content designed to accumulate followers who are directed to, via link and/or advertisement, consume and purchase [Lipa]’s content.”

The photo in question shows Lipa inside an airport wearing an oversize hat. “I'll be living under big fluffy hats until further notice,” she captioned the pic.

Integral Images Inc. is seeking at least $150,000 U.S. as well as a court order preventing any further copyright infringements.

Reps for Lipa have not responded to the lawsuit and none of the claims have been proven in a court.

And finally, don’t feel too old but The Spice Girls are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut single “Wannabe” by sharing an official fan video and the demo of a previously-unreleased ballad, “Feed Your Love.”

Out digitally now, Wannabe25 will be available in physical copies – including cassettes and on vinyl – beginning July 23.

“Wannabe” was released on July 8, 1996 and quickly topped the charts around the world. The song helped make the Spice Girls debut album Spice become the best-selling ever by a female group.

Britney Spears shared a pair of cryptic Instagram posts late Wednesday, two weeks after begging a judge to let her out of the conservatorship she’s been under since 2008.

In one, Spears posted a piece of anime art that she captioned: “Our Father who ART in Heaven HALLOWED BE THY NAME !!!! Pssss you better F**KING BELIEVE IT !!!!”

While some fans reacted with confusion others doubted the post came from Spears 

A few hours earlier, Spears shared a photo of herself, from behind, standing naked in front of a bathtub. It was accompanied only by three emojis of ballerina flats.

“Britney’s back,” noted one person in the comments. Other fans noted that her tattoos were not visible.

A hearing about the conservatorship is scheduled for July 14.

Diplo is facing another accusation of sexual assault.

According to TMZ, a woman suing Diplo alleged he forced her to perform oral sex and recorded it in his room at the Wynn in Las Vegas following a 2019 show. She claimed she was too intoxicated to consent.

Diplo’s lawyer Brian Freedman told TMZ the lawsuit is “completely outrageous, wildly untrue and yet also entirely predictable.” He said the complaint is almost identical to one filed last month by Shelly Auguste, whom he identified as the woman’s friend.”

Freedman added: “We have irrefutable evidence that this is a completely meritless claim and we will be providing it to a court as quickly as we possibly can to put an end to this shakedown by Ms. Auguste and her accomplices once and for all.”

Diplo sought a retraining order against Auguste in December 2020 after ending their relationship. He sued her in April, alleging stalking and harassment. Auguste countered by suing Diplo for sexual battery, assault, defamation, infliction of emotional distress and fraud.

One of her claims was that Diplo coerced her into a threesome with a girl she believed was underage after one of his 2019 shows in Las Vegas.

Freedman told TMZthat Auguste’s lawsuit is part of an “ongoing campaign of harassment.”

Darius Rucker said on Wednesday he and two members of Rascal Flatts were pulled over by police while driving a golf cart after a concert in Canada.

In a TikTok video, the singer shared a memory from his time on the road with Rascal Flatts.

“We were playing Toronto and we were walking out of the back, walking to our buses, and I was walking with Joe Don and Gary from the band, and they said they saw a golf cart,” Rucker recalled.

“So, sure enough, we grabbed it, we were driving out, and all of a sudden Gary decided we were gonna go across the street, across the highway in this golf cart. And so, we go across the highway, and as soon as we go across the highway, we see the red lights. We get hit with the red lights, with the blue lights.

“We're getting arrested, we're getting pulled over. We're getting pulled over in the golf cart, the cop wants to arrest us. And, the funniest thing about the whole thing is the cop stops us, and me and Joe Don did the ol' ‘pretend that we're not there' thing. We just got out of the golf cart and started walking back, we were leaving Gary right there. He was going to jail by himself, we were out of there.”

Rucker said nobody was, in fact, arrested that night but added “that was one of the few nights of my life I thought I really was going to jail.”

(Rucker could be mistaken about the city – he was the opening act on Rascal Flatts’ American Living Unstoppable Tour in 2010, which stopped in London, Ottawa and Hamilton.)

Britney Spears' court-appointed attorney said Tuesday he wants to resign.

Samuel Ingham the third  filed documents in Los Angeles Superior Court informing a judge he will step down “upon the appointment of new court-appointed counsel” for Britney Spears, who has been under a conservatorship since 2008.

On June 23, Spears told Judge Brenda Penny she wants to hire her own lawyer. The singer claimed she was not aware that she could file a petition to end the conservatorship, which Ingham has never done. (TMZ reported that Ingham regularly gave Spears the option of asking to end the conservatorship.)

Spears pleaded with the judge to let her out of the conservatorship. “I want changes, and I want changes going forward,” she said. “I deserve changes ... I just want my life back. And it’s been 13 years. And it’s enough.”

Ingham’s resignation comes the same week Spears’ longtime manager Larry Rudolph, who is not involved in the conservatorship, stepped down, citing Spears’ intention to retire.

Last week, Bessemer Trust Company, co-conservator of Spears’ finances and estate, sought to step away from its role.

Chris Brown is being sued by a former housekeeper who was allegedly mauled by his dog Hades last year.

The woman, who is suing as “Jane Doe,” claimed in a legal filing she suffered serious injuries after the R&B star’s dog attacked her when she was emptying a vacuum cleaner at his property in Tarzana, California on Dec. 12.

The alleged victim said she had to have extensive surgery following the attack, which left her with scars.

She alleged that when Brown saw her lying in a pool of blood, he told his entourage to get his dogs and leave before first responders arrived. She claimed Brown later told investigators he didn’t know who took the dogs.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Hades was euthanized several weeks later by a shelter in a county several hours north of Brown’s home.

Brown has not commented on the lawsuits and none of the allegations have been proven in court.

Britney Spears’ longtime manager Larry Rudolph has resigned and is claiming the pop star plans to retire.

“It has been over 2-1/2 years since Britney and I last communicated, at which time she informed me she wanted to take an indefinite work hiatus,” Rudolph wrote, in a letter to Spears’ conservators obtained by Deadline. “Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire.

“As her manager, I believe it is in Britney’s best interest for me to resign from her team as my professional services are no longer needed.”

Larry Rudolph has managed Britney’s career since in 1995, except for a brief period in 2007-08.

Rudolph was never involved in Britney’s conservatorship. “I will always be incredibly proud of what we accomplished over our 25 years together,” he wrote. “I wish Britney all the health and happiness in the world, and I’ll be there for her if she ever needs me again, just as I always have been.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have shared photos from their weekend wedding in Oklahoma, and they look incredible

Gwen wore a gown by Vera Wang and Blake wore a suit and white bow tie.

The singers exchanged vows on Saturday, less than nine months after they got engaged.

BTS label Big Hit Music updated fans last week on its legal attacks on people who criticize the group online and on social media. The company explained it filed civil suits for damages in cases “where the criminal complaint was concluded with a sentencing.” Big Hit stated that they would “continue to initiate strict measures” against anyone speaking maliciously against their artists.

Under South Korean law, people can be criminally charged with defamation even if what they said or wrote is true. The United Nations Human Rights Committee has urged the government to abolish the law.

Congratulations to Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton who got MARRIED ON SATURDAY!

According to photos from paparazzi agency Backgrid, the couple tied the knot in a small chapel Shelton had built on his ranch in Oklahoma in front of a small gathering of family members and friends.

You might remember that last month, there was speculation that they already got married when Stefani was spotted wearing a sparkling new diamond band on her finger - but it looks like it was all a sneaky bait and switch to throw us off the scent to help keep the big day private!We wish the happy couple all the best.
