Shawn Mendes rang in his 23rd birthday yesterday in New York city surrounded by friends, and looked like he was having the time of his life! Shawn was presented with a massive cake, was drinking, dancing and singing with friends - and of course, received a touching tribute from his beloved Camila Cabello who posted a photo of herself kissing him on the cheek. "Feliz cumpleaños mi amor," she wrote in the caption. "Happy Birthday my love, Thankful for your existence everyday." Shawn also seemed to take some time to reflect on his life so far, sitting with the NYC skyline behind him, looking to the sky with the caption 23.

Is Adele heading to Las Vegas? The Mail on Sunday cited an unnamed source claiming that the singer is in talks to perform in Vegas - the source said “Adele has very recently been talking to musicians that she has worked with before to gauge their availability, to see whether they could be in Vegas for the gigs,”

There has been no comment from Adele’s reps. Adele’s last tour wrapped in June 2017 after performing in front of more than 2.4 million people at 121 shows. Adele is also rumoured to be close to releasing her fourth studio album, with a tentative release date before the end of the year.

Usher has reacted to T-Pain calling him out recently for sparking a “four-year depression.”

The R&B star told Billboard: “I’m happy that T-Pain said something.”

In the “Auto-Tune” episode of the Canadian series This Is Pop, which aired in March on CTV, T-Pain recalled being taken aside on an airplane by Usher in 2013.

T-Pain shared, “He was like, ‘I want to tell you something, man’ … He sounded real concerned. He was like, ‘Man, you kinda f**ked up music.’ I didn’t understand. Usher was my friend,” “He was like, ‘Nah, man, you really f**ked up music for real singers… That’s the very moment that started a four-year depression for me.”

After the episode streamed in the U.S., many fans slammed Usher on social media – but T-Pain was quick to defend the singer. “Telling that story was in no way meant to disrespect that man,” he tweeted. 

In an interview with Billboard, Usher admitted “it was very hurtful to know that he had experienced that kind of hardship in life. I wouldn’t wish that on any person.”

He added: “Private conversations for me have always been intended to uplift. But when or if people get pieces of it, they can always have some other interpretation.

“But we’ve spoken since and we’re good.”

#MileyCyrus has publicly reached out to DaBaby - saying  He should be educated instead of cancelled following comments he made last month that were misinformed and homophobic. The following day, DaBaby addressed growing criticism of his comments by suggesting that his gay fans are too good to expose themselves to HIV, which was seen as even more tone deaf. When several U.S. music festivals removed him from their line-ups, DaBaby posted a more formal apology, claiming that he needed the opportunity to grow and be educated.

It seems like Miley Cyrus is ready to help him with that growth if he’s willing to engage her. 

It looks like Olivia Rodrigo has a pretty unique way of dealing with the toxicity of social media. 

In the September issue of GQ she revealed that a friend of hers set up a child-lock on her phone, and forgot the password - which essentially means that Olivia can only look at the apps on her phone for 30 minutes everyday.

Fetty Wap broke his silence on Tuesday about the recent death of his four-year-old daughter Lauren Maxwell.

“She’s good. My baby’s happy now,” the rapper said during an Instagram Live.

Lauren’s mother Lisa ‘Turquoise’ Miami confirmed the sad news on Sunday. A cause of death was not disclosed.

Fetty Wap, whose real name is Willie Maxwell, asked fans to flood his Instagram Live with butterfly emojis as a tribute to his daughter. “Shorty loved butterflies…and if y’all could do that, it’d mean a lot to me,” he said.

The 30-year-old became visibly emotional as he watched butterflies fill the comments.

“Man, thank y’all,” he said. “That’s love. I appreciate ya’ll, for real. Damn. That’s love. She’d be happy as hell.”

Selena Gomez took to Twitter on Tuesday to call out TV shows that make light of her 2017 kidney transplant.

“I am not sure how writing jokes about organ transplants for television shows has become a thing but sadly it has apparently,” the pop star tweeted. “I hope in the next writer’s room when one of these tasteless jokes are presented it’s called out immediately and doesn’t make it on air.”

Gomez added: “My fans always have my back. LOVE YOU.”

On social media, the singer’s fans have slammed a recent episode of The Good Fight in which characters discuss topics that are off-limits for jokes – including autism, necrophilia and “Selena Gomez’s kidney transplant.”

Last year, an episode of the Saved by the Bell reboot was edited after debuting on U.S. streaming service Peacock following criticism of a scene in which two characters argue about who gave Gomez a kidney.

In an October 2017 interview on Today, Gomez spoke about how friend Francia Raisa saved her life.

“My kidneys were just done,” recalled Gomez. “That was it, and I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life. The thought of asking someone to do that was really difficult for me.

“She volunteered and did it. And let alone someone wanting to volunteer, it is incredibly difficult to find a match. The fact that she was a match, I mean that’s unbelievable. That’s not real.”

Gomez said she needed a new kidney due to her Lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease.

Following the phenomenal success of “Dynamite,” “Butter” and “Permission to Dance,” the members of BTS are anxious to release more English-language songs.

“It’s interesting to see results from trying out these new things,” J-Hope said – via a translator – in an interview with TIME. “I started to take more interest, my English improved and it’s actually fun.”

V agreed. “It wasn’t an easy process, but the results were good.”

RM, the only member who is fluent in English, responded to criticism by some fans about the move towards releasing English singles. “I don’t think it’s bad,” he said. “In general, with language, topic, there’s no borders, boundaries or limits.

“We want to transcend everything, even ourselves. Language doesn’t matter that much to us like in the past.”

BTS currently has two songs in the Top 10 of the U.S. singles chart. “Butter” is No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the ninth week and “Permission to Dance” is at No. 9. Both tracks were co-written by Alberta native Jenna Andrews.

A country music star reportedly left a $1,000 U.S. tip for a waitress working a double shift at a North Carolina restaurant. BUT WHO COULD IT BE?

Shirell ‘Honey' Lackey said the singer – who she declined to identify – ordered food to go on July 25 from the Waffle House in Greensboro, where she was working a double shift while caring for daughter Bella.

“A country music star just came in the restaurant and tipped me $1000, gave me two tickets to his next show and got my address to send the baby diapers clothes etc. ( plus hugged me… twice) because I had to have her at work with me for 15 hours today,” Lackey wrote on Facebook.

“His bus driver overheard me and another coworker discussing how i sometimes bring her to work but only when I absolutely have to and he went and told the country music star so he came to me and Said that in a society where nobody wants to work he had to respect the hustle of someone who is willing to do whatever it took no matter what to support their child and I started crying.”

Lackey shared a photo of the bill shows a $1,000 tip on an $11.99 order.

“It feels good to be recognized,” she told local station Fox 8. “It’s nice to be recognized for doing the things we do as mothers.”

Fans are speculating the generous tipper was Luke Bryan, who performed the night before in Raleigh, NC and would have passed through Greensboro to get to his next show in Nashville.

Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor has a message for unvaccinated fans who think it’s OK to go to a concert.

“Guess what, man, if you’re going to put people at risk of getting sick, you shouldn’t want to go to a show. That’s common sense,” the singer told Heavy Consequence. “And if you do put people at risk, then you’re a f**kin’ a**hole. And you shouldn’t be let in anyway.”

Taylor said he doesn’t believe proof of vaccination should be required to attend shows. “For me, it’s a common-sense thing,” he said, “but we don’t have a lot of common sense these days.”

Taylor noted the ignorance and misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines. “People act like getting a vaccine is signing a deal with the devil. It’s been so politicized and spun out of control in these conspiratorial echo chambers,” he said.

“The fact that [vaccines] have been demonized, almost to the point of these gnarly conspiracy theories, no wonder why people are afraid of it — because they’re listening to the wrong people.”

Billie Eilish’s brother and collaborator Finneas has weighed in on a Twitter account that shares fake stories about his sister.

“I have no problem with a joke as long as people know it’s a joke,” the musician tweeted Tuesday in a reply to an Eilish fan who asked him to get the account suspended.

At @BilliesUpdatess, which debuted this month and currently has about 1,120 followers, there are tweets like “In a new interview, Billie stated that she cried when she got rich and ‘wanted to be poor so I can relate to most of my fans’ and “In a new … interview, Billie compares herself to Beyoncé and said ‘Olivia Rodrigo would have never existed’ if it wasn’t for her.”

Finneas pointed out the account is “Fake obviously” and added: “Honestly I just wish they’d label this account satire like [The Onion] or something.”

A few days earlier, Finneas told his followers that @BilliesUpdatess was "posting relentless lies about billie so if you see that account, report and block Em."

According to Twitter policy, “Users are allowed to create parody … and fan accounts” as long as it is clearly indicated that “the user is not affiliated with the subject of the account.”

On Wednesday, the @BilliesUpdatess bio included: “NOT Affiliated with anything related to Billie Eilish. Parody Account.”

Following Finneas' comment, the account holder – who claims to be a 15-year-old named Ethan – tweeted "WHY ARE YOU OBSESSED WITH ME FINNEAS" and then "This account is satire. (Legal Reasons)."

Many fans are not laughing.

“They’re making billie look like a very bad selfish person,” read one tweet, “with everything going on right now and the album coming up it’s not really something that we should ignore.” Another fumed: “Its not even funny, sue them for defamation what r u waiting for.”

DaBaby is telling people who are labelling him as homophobic to shut the F*** up.

During his set at Rolling Loud in Miami Gardens, Florida, the rapper told the crowd: “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS – any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two or three weeks – put your cellphone light up … Fellas, if you ain’t sucking n***a d**k in the parking lot, put your cellphone light up.”

Clips of DaBaby’s words quickly made the rounds on social media, leading to accusations of homophobia.

DaBaby took to Instagram Stories on Monday to address the reactions.

“What I do at a live show is for the audience at the live show… It’ll never translate correctly to somebody looking at a little five-, six-second clip from their … crib on their phone. It just don’t work like that.

“Because, regardless of … how the internet twisted up my motherf**king words, me and all my fans at the show, the gay ones and the straight ones, we turned the f**k up.”

DaBaby insisted he wasn’t on a rant but simply delivering a “call to action” before the next track on his set list.

“All the lights went up, gay or straight ... You know what my gay fans did? Put that motherf**king light up. My gay fans ... they got class. 

DaBaby reiterated that people who didn’t pay to be at the show shouldn’t offer their opinions.

“Don’t be disturbing my motherf**king gay fans and making them feel uncomfortable in they skin… Gay or straight, or both, or whatever… don’t none of that s**t matter to me,” he said. “What matter to me, when I’m on that stage, is putting on the show for any and everybody that’s out there.

“And that’s what the f**k I did.”

BTS has replaced itself on the U.S. singles chart for the second consecutive week.

“Butter” jumped from No. 7 to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, swapping positions with “Permission To Dance.”

It is the eighth week “Butter” has been No. 1, putting it in a tie with Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” for the biggest song of the year so far.

BTS is the first act ever to replace itself at No. 1 in two consecutive weeks.

Last week, it was the first act to replace itself at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 since Canada’s Drake in 2018, when “In My Feelings” took over from “Nice for What” after eight weeks.

Billie Eilish says she avoids reading comments on social media “because otherwise I will spiral out.”

But, in an interview published last week in the Los Angeles Times, the 19-year-old singer admitted it is challenging to ignore.

 “I want to hear what people have to say, and also, because I’ve grown up on the internet, I mostly agree with a lot of what the internet says, Some of the things that they make fun of people for are funny because they’re kinda true, right? Which then worries me because I’m like, ‘Oh, God, are the mean things [about me] actually true? And what are they?’ I want to know them! But I don’t want to know them, because what is that going to do for me? Nothing.”

Eilish then recalled the reactions to a photo she posted after turning 18 in which she is wearing a swimsuit.

“Because you could see my shoulders, everyone was, like, ‘Oh, my God, she turned 18 and she’s a slut!’” 

“Every girl wants to feel desirable… But then there’s a whole world of men who argue that women say, ‘Oh, I don’t want men to sexualize me’ but then wear shirts that show their boobs and sing songs about having sex.’

Ed Sheeran admitted in an interview earlier this month that the birth of his daughter almost convinced him to retire. 

Sheeran reflected on the break he took after this hugely successful divide tour in 2019 saying “I stopped playing music for a bit and music is entirely me as a person. Then I had my daughter...and I was like: ‘Right, that’s it. This is me. I am just going to be a dad. I am not going to play music anymore.’

Pink is standing up for the Norwegian women's beach handball team in their fight for less revealing uniforms. She tweeted out her support Saturday for the team after it was revealed that they were fined because they wore shorts instead of bikini bottoms for a championship match in Bulgaria.

Pink, who has been outspoken on feminist issues before, has a really good point - the women’s attire is very clearly not mandated for them for any reason other than for aesthetic, and the Norwegian team wearing much more functional shorts as part of their uniforms should be allowed - especially considering what the mens uniforms look like. 

It’s official! After 17 years apart, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are back together.

JLo and Ben spent her 52nd birthday away together on a boat in St. Tropez, and JLo even made it Instagram official by posting a series of bikini photos that finished with her and Ben kissing passionately on the water. Selena Gomez has once again accused Facebook of not doing more to rid its platforms of COVID-19 misinformation and conspiracy theories.

Quote: “In December I asked @Facebook and @Instagram to take action on lies about COVID and vaccines,” the pop star tweeted, before noting that U.S. president Joe Biden and the U.S. surgeon general Vivek Murthy “have finally called for action....So why do they still refuse to act?”

In December, Gomez tweeted: “Scientific disinformation has and will cost lives. @Facebook said they don’t allow lies about COVID and vaccines to be spread on their platforms. So how come all of this is still happening? Facebook is going to be responsible for thousands of deaths if they don’t take action now!”

Biden recently said Facebook was “killing people” but later said the company was not directly responsible.

In a statement, Facebook said “since the beginning of the pandemic we have removed over 18 million instances of COVID-19 misinformation” and said it has “labeled and reduced the visibility of more than 167 million pieces of COVID-19 content debunked by our network of fact-checking partners so fewer people see it and — when they do — they have the full context.”

A fire at a New Orleans mansion connected to Beyoncé might have been deliberately set, according to a report.

Flames broke out Wednesday evening at the 95-year-old home in the city’s Garden District, which was purchased for $2.6 million U.S. in 2015 by Sugarcane Park, a company registered to Beyoncé’s management company Parkwood Entertainment LLC.

According to nola.com, the fire began in the kitchen, where investigators found books inside an oven and a gas can. The smoke alarm went off at around the same time someone reported a suspicious person in the area.

Parkwood Entertainment did not respond to a request for comment from nola.com and Beyoncé’s manager said he was unaware of the fire and declined comment.

Halsey vowed this week to stop doing press after being “deliberately disrespected” by Allure.

The  new mom blasted the magazine in tweets they later deleted.

“First your writer made a focal point in my cover story my pronouns and you guys deliberately disrespected them by not using them in the article,” 

“I hate doing press because I get exploited and misquoted.” 

A final tweet read: “#NoMorePress goodbye.”

Halsey was interviewed by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Danielle Pergament for the August issue of Allure. 

When someone like Halsey adopts “she/they” pronouns, it typically means they want to be referred to by both. Unless a person specifies they only want one pronoun used at a time, the best practice for writers is to mix the pronouns they use.

Halsey’s criticism came a week after Allure responded publicly to criticism from fans. In a tweet on July 14, it said: “We’ve heard your feedback and you’re absolutely right: we messed up. We are adjusting our cover story with Halsey to use both ‘she’ and ‘they' pronouns.”

Halsey also said that Allure, in a tweet, “bastardized a quote where I discuss the privilege of being the white child of a black parent + intentionally used a portion that was the antithesis of the point I was trying to make.”

The tweet, which Allure has since deleted, read: “Throughout her life, @halsey has struggled with her identity as a white-passing Black woman (her mother is white and her father is Black). ‘A lot of people try to write off a lot of my experiences because I present white.’”

In the article, Halsey went on to say: “No matter how many tears I’ve shed because I’m not connecting with my family or my culture in a way that I would like too, or because the waitress thinks I’m the babysitter when I go out with my family, none of that would compare to the tears that I would shed for presenting phenotypically Black and the disadvantages and the violence that I would face because of that."

Music manager Scott “Scooter” Braun has filed for divorce from his Canadian wife Yael Cohen after seven years.

In a petition filed in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday, Braun seeks joint custody of their children Jagger, 6, Levi, 4, and Hart, 2. The couple had a prenuptial agreement and Braun has agreed to pay spousal support.

Braun manages Canada's Justin Bieber as well as artists like Ariana Grande, J Balvin, The Kid LAROI and Demi Lovato.

Braun and Cohen were married July 6, 2014 in Whistler, B.C.

Braun, 40, marked their anniversary this year by posting a wedding pic on Instagram that he captioned: “If just for the kids you have given me everything. But thanks to you I have grown, I have been pushed to be the best version of myself and to continue growing and learning. That all happened because you came in to my life. 7 years. The adventure is just beginning. Thank you Yae. I love you. Happy anniversary.”

Cohen, 34, commented with heart emojis and “A Team 4lyfe.”
