This week we have the amazing Thom (or you might know him as purpleyorange) on our podcast to talk a bit about all things branding and marketing. Welcome to the newest segment of TFB, “Micro Brew,” the spin-off series where Evan and Annie discuss smaller topics, or just topics that don’t make it to the pain podcast, within fingerboarding. These episodes won’t go beyond 30 minutes, but today’s an exception. 

To help introduce Micro Brew, we thought we’d start off with an easy topic and that is our fingerboard preferences. We plan on doing a different episode specifically about decks, but for now enjoy the conversation about tape, wheels, trucks and tuning.

This episode, Evan and Annie discuss what they think about the rise in number of companies over the last few years and how it has contributed to the oversaturation of fingerboarding. They also talk a bit about “hype companies” and briefly discuss, from a consumer point of view, what they think makes a good vs. bad company.
