The Lord Jesus sends His disciples to prepare for them to eat the Passover in Jerusalem. During the institution of the Lord’s Supper we continue to practice today, Jesus washes the disciples feet and predicts His betrayal. John records much teaching Jesus gives His disciples that will comfort them and us today as we read. Jesus prays and is in agony in the garden, just before He is betrayed, arrested, the disciples scatter, Peter denies Jesus, and today comes to a close as He is mocked and accused of blasphemy by the religious leaders…all leading up to Friday’s events where He will pay the ultimate price for our sin.
