Curious about how the first disciples of Jesus were called? In this episode of 60 Second Christianity, we delve into John 1, where John the Baptist identifies Jesus as the Messiah. When Jesus walks by, John proclaims, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” This revelation prompts two of John's disciples, Andrew and likely John, the Gospel's author, to follow Jesus. Andrew quickly tells his brother Simon, “We have found the Messiah” (John 1:41), and Jesus renames Simon to Peter. The next day, Jesus calls Philip, who then brings Nathanael to Jesus. In just a few days, Jesus gains five new disciples, each eager to share the treasure they found in Him. Let's be inspired by their example and share the treasure we have in Jesus with others.
