Summer is here, the theaters are open, and people are returning to cinemas which is FANTASTIC news! JT and I sat down to talk about some of our own personal favorite movie going experiences while also talking about things we're looking forward to seeing this year. Sit back, relax, and let JT and I take you on a trip down memory lane to remind us of some of the very best movie going experiences EVER!

JT and I talked earlier this year about our favorite films that came out in 2020, and many of those films made an appearance on this year's Oscar nominations list! 

We discuss which picks were Surprises and which films we thought were totally SNUBBED.

It wound up being a pretty great year for film despite the chaos, and we think that sitting around and chatting about how the Academy chose to highlight the year in film is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered.

The Coen Brothers have made some of the best films of this century, and none are as fun or as pleasing on the ears as their 2000 hit film

O Brother, where art thou?

With a Grammy award winning soundtrack assembled by T Bone Burnett, this film truly is an adventure filled odyssey, and one of my personal favorite films ever.

My guest today, Daniel C. Jackson, also happens to be a huge fan of the film (I mean, who isn't?!) and we had a lovely chat about why we find the film to be such a classic.

This episode is all about the One, the Only, JIM HENSON. Shawn W. Smith and I sat down to talk about one of the greatest artists of the 20th Century and a personal favorite of Shawn's. Jim Henson filled the world with positivity and magic in his 53 years on this earth, and that love is still felt today as his legacy and his life's work continue to entertain and educate both children and adults alike. 

Whether it was on television with THE MUPPET SHOW, SESEME STREET and FRAGGLE ROCK or in the cinema with the many MUPPET Movies and standalone classics like THE DARK CRYSTAL and LABYRINTH, Jim Henson has given us some of the most imaginative and awe inspiring moments in film and television history. Small screen or big screen, it didn't matter. He was a genius through and through and I hope you enjoy our journey through his life and work and what he means to us. 

JT from the Quarantine Film Club and I sat down to chat about what we think were some of the very best films of the year. 

2020 was certainly unique as far as movie releases go, with many films getting pushed to 2021 and beyond. But! We were able to get some pretty great things offered up to us for at home viewing, which made this year a rare surprise for some films that otherwise might not have found their audience. 

Whatever the case may be, JT and I came up with what WE think are the best films of 2020 and we talk about their place in the upcoming awards season, and even some surprise picks that may not get much awards attention, but that captured our attention nonetheless.

It's the most wonderful time of year! Even in 2020, I've found myself decorating and listening to christmas music and, of course, watching some of my favorite Christmas movies. JT and I sat down to discuss some of the very best of the bunch and how we think they stack up in the pantheon of Christmas movies. Enjoy the episode and happy holidays everybody! 

Who is Don Bluth you ask? He is an American animator and filmmaker who would most certainly be one of the faces on the Mount Rushmore of feature length animated filmmaking and just so happens to be a personal favorite filmmaker of my friend and guest on the pod, Oscar Gubelman. 

With such films as THE SECRET OF NIMH, AN AMERICAN TAIL, THE LAND BEFORE TIME and ANASTASIA, Don Bluth has cemented his place as one of the greatest animators of all time. Oscar and I discuss the films of Don Bluth and how they affected us as children and how they continue to wow us even as adults. Enjoy this trip down memory lane as we talk about the man, the myth, the legend, Don Bluth. 

1994 was an EXCEPTIONAL year for film. With such titles as Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump and The Shawshank Redemption, there was simply no WAY that the Academy was going to get it all "right". Luckily, JT and I have taken the time to rewrite history and we are going to be giving you our revamped list of who we think should have been nominated, and who should have ultimately won the awards.
