In today's episode I speak with Lucy about her baby Lewin and her older son Theo. She shares her thoughts about adding Lewin to their family and why they decided to have a larger age gap between her children.
We speak about Lewin's NICU journey, her success with breast feeding despite their limitations, how she coped through Lewin's traumatic pregnancy and how she managed and improved Lewin's sleep while still feeding / rocking to sleep!
Lucy was wonderful to speak with and I hope you enjoy this episode.
Lucy's sleep program: The Intuitive Baby - http://intuitive.baby - use code THEFIRSTYEAR for 15% off the program and support package
Lewin's favourite toy: Grapat Nins Carla or Seasons set (also a big hit with Theo and Lucy)
After recording Lucy remembered that she struggled with blocked milk ducts (isn't it amazing how you forget things that were such a big deal?!) - if you are struggling with this too then she recommended Sunflower Lecithin supplements which decreased the viscosity of her milk so it didn't get stuck!
In this episode I speak with Kirsty about the first year of parenting her second bub, Byron. We speak about her prenatal anxiety and how that impacted her birth choices. Kirsty speaks about going from one baby to two and the benefits she found from following routine. She also talks about the interesting way that intolerance presented themselves for her bubs.
I hope you enjoy this episode and don't forget to rate, review and subscribe!
In this episode of The First Year I chat with Hayley all about her first year with Beau. Hayley discusses the difficulties around trying to conceive, her unenjoyable experience with pregnancy and the positives of having a large age gap!
Hayley returned to work at about 5 months PP, and discusses the impact this had on her breastfeeding journey, as well as some exciting news that they got at the 5 month mark!
In this episode we discuss parenting with Christina, who is mum to 10 month old Maeve. Christina discusses Maeve’s very quick entrance into the world, followed by unexplained seizures which resulted in an intense stay in the NICU. As a result of being apart from Maeve, Christina wasn't able to establish breastfeeding, which is something she was really hoping to do.
Christina speaks candidly about the issues sleep deprivation were having on her and her partner Ash, and how they used sleep training to overcome that.
Enjoy the amazing story that is the first year of Maeve!
