The FlightDeck Podcast

This game was horrible. It was honestly worse than what we saw versus New England. The offense and the offensive line seemed to have regressed even more. There were egregious penalties, sloppy play and play calling, and just a downright letdown from start to finish. But there was a small amount of good. Quinnen showed up in game three like we said he would and Michael Carter II is showing to be a very good young cornerback. With Elijah Moore going down with a concussion, we saw the offense take another hit with injury. Hopefully he will be back sooner rather than later.  This game was definitely one to forget and hopefully the team takes head to what Q said in his postgame interview and learn from their mistakes and comeback better. Except for Greg Van Roten...he needs to go NOW.

Week 3 is here and the Jets are facing a tough match on the road versus an undefeated Denver team. The crew sits down and discuss what the Jets need to do in order to have a chance to win this game. The Broncos have an accurate QB, a tough young Secondary, and playmakers at the WR, RB, and TE positions. Mike Lafleur and Jeff Ulbrich will definitely have their work cut out for them. We each give our matchup advantages/disadvantages as well as our Keys to victory. I also give you my fantasy play of the week.

The crew sits down and discuss the good, the bad and the ugly of the Pats game. And it was ALOT OF UGLY. Between Mike Lafleur's game script and Zach's multiple interceptions this game was hard to watch. But, outside of that, there were some very good things that we came away with. From the o-line, the secondary , the running game, and the defense overall, the team show it has the ability to make adjustments and can be dominant. We also discussed CJ Mosely's return, Bryce Hall's dominance, and why Michael Carter should be the guy moving forward....

This episode we breakdown the upcoming week two clash against the Patriots. With the line reshuffling after the loss of Becton, how will the team respond? We give our take on the line play, the addition of BJ Goodson, the return of Crowder and Cole, and we give our opinion on all the Denzel Mims talk. Around the league we discuss the hot Arizona Cardinals, how good I think the Browns and Rams are, and finally why we are mad about Tre Smith. We close things out with the final score prediction and I give you my fantasy play of the week....

Well folks, week one is in the books and although we didn't get the victory like we had hoped, there were alot of reasons why we came away from this game feeling good about what we saw. There was some good, some bad, some ugly and some real headscratchers. And we are giving our take on them all. The biggest takeaways is that we have quarterback, a solid WR1 and a very good special teams unit. And we also have a coach who makes adjustments. We tell you why we think it is up from here.

With the season opener a mere 3 days away, the excitement and anticipation I am seeing, hearing and feeling is higher than I can remember. An off season that started off with doubt and extreme scrutiny over our QB pick has morphed into an extreme overflow of adulation and superlatives from critics turned Zach lovers. And we don't want it. We want them to chill out and let the kid play and not to build him up just to tear him down when he makes the unavoidable rookie mistakes. We discuss the Tony Romo quote that has everyone buzzing as well as others. We breakdown the Captain's Picks as well as the almost final depth chart. We then get into the week one matchup and discuss the various matchup advantages and disadvantages the Jets will have as well as the keys to victory. I close things out by giving you my fantasy stud of the week from this game.

This episode is all about the final 53. The crew sat down and discussed all that we liked and didn't like about the final cuts. Who was the biggest surprise cut? Who was a surprise keeper? We went by each position group and talked about the strengths and weaknesses as well how the injuries have played a major part thus far. We talked about the two major trades that the team did and how that will affect the squad. We also talked about possible players we would like for them to bring in. We finish things off with a little Robert Saleh talk about how he stacks up thus far....

This episode we kick things off with Around the League where injuries have been at the forefront. Sony Micbel was traded to the Rams due to backfield injuries. And the Jacksonville Jaguars lost their prized rookie RB for the year due to a major injury. The Jets have been no stranger to injuries themselves losing 3 of their key free agent acquisitions to injury forcing them to look for defensive end help through free agency and trades. We discuss who we like and who we don't and if we would trade a player like Mims or a pick for the right guy. We also discuss the amount of Crow we are seeing these pundits and fanbases eat when it comes to Zach. They are showing all this love and adulation and WE DON'T LIKE IT. We want to stay under the radar and out of people's consciousness. We close things out discussing this weeks final preseason game and what we want and don't want to see....
