This episode is centered around the Green and White scrimmage game, the first official depth chart, and this season's first episode of One Jets Drive. We start things off with Around the NFL talking about the massive contract Josh Allen received and who will be up next. We also talked about the massive injury that the Ravens have to deal with with first round rookie WR Rashod Bateman and the possible affect it will have on Lamar Jackson. It is over reaction season and in the aftermath of the scrimmage, we have seen fans lose their minds, especially over Zach Wilson and Denzel Mims struggles (Everyone needs to RELAX by the way and we tell you why). As for the game itself, there were some good, bad, and ugly and we discuss all three. We then move into the depth chart. And honestly outside of Coleman being named the starting RB, there were no big suprises. The first episode of OJD gave us a great and in depth introduction to Carl Lawson and a re-introduction of sorts to CJ Mosley and we each gave our take on it. We also got a MAD MATT'S RANT OF THE WEEK in store. We close things out with a preview of our first pre-season game this Saturday and what we all would like to see happen and not happen.

Training camp is in full swing and the pads are on. We are starting to see guys get more acclimated and coming into their own. This episode we kick things off as usual with Around the League, where we talk about the major injuries to Quenton Nelson and Carson Wentz that the Colts are now dealing with. We also give props and congrats to Todd Bowles on his new big contract making him the league highest paid DC. In Jets news we kick things off giving our early impressions of Zach Wilson and Elijah Moore. Zach is really starting to come into his own making great throws and showing the ability to learn and bounce back from rookie mistakes. As for Elijah, he has been flat out balling and destroying every corner he has faced. We then move on to the big talk of camp...the matchup between Carl Lawson and Mekhi Becton. Lawson has been handing Becton his ass for the most part, but he has also been teaching him where he went wrong and how he is beating him. And Becton has been doing the same...iron sharpening iron. With the defensive line being our deepest and most talented unit on the team, we talk about the inevitable cuts that will happen. Who goes and who stays? We wrap things up with what player each of us are intrigued or impressed by as well as talking about what impact, if any, will the signing of journeyman QB Josh Johnson have on the team.

Zach has finally signed his contract and everybody is at camp and ready to go. With all that behind them, the team can now focus on the task at hand...getting ready to win games. We kick things off with around the league and the talk of Chandler Jones asking to be traded out of Arizona. We also discuss the recent developments in the Xavien Howard saga down in MIami. With Zach missing those early practices, we saw the need for a viable backup QB. We discussed who we have and possible options out there. We then pivoted to three things that we are intrigued by. Matt's choice was the left side of the line and how devastating the run game will be behind Becton and Vera-Tucker. Tyrus' pick was the early showing of Carl Lawson and how he has the potential to be our first double digit sack edge rusher since John Abraham. Omari's pick was the emergence of Keelan Cole and his training camp battle with Denzel Mims, and how he will surprise alot of people this season. We also touched on the RG training camp battle as well.

In this episode we start things off offering our prayers and condolences to the family, friends, and coworkers to Coach Greg Knapp, who passed away after being struck by a motorist while riding his bike. We talked about his imprint on the league and how this untimely death will affect not just the Jets but hopefully society as a whole. During our around the league segment, we talked about the huge extensions Fred Warner and Taylor Moton signed and how they can affect the Jets moving forward. We also talked about the new covid memo sent out by the NFL and how missed games will be handled. Speaking of contacts, the Jets got two of their top 3 draft picks signed and ready to go. And we are sure that Zach will be done soon.

This episode we kick things off with around the league talking about the contract situation and possible trade of Dolphin's cornerback Xavien Howard and how it can positively affect the Jets. We also discuss the unfortunate situation with the arrest of cornerback Richard Sherman. Mental Health and Depression are something that needs to be taken seriously and addressed accordingly. Over in Jet land we kick things off on a high note talking about our stud LT being named the 6th best tackle in the league, with some giving him 2nd place votes. If he realizes his potential and stays healthy, we could have a HOF player. In other news, all the talk has been about Marcus Maye and his extension, or rather lack thereof. This topic has been a point of contention amongst the fanbase and we discuss both sides of it. We then talk about the recent polls that has the Jets defensive line being named the best in the division while the offensive line was named as the 3rd out of the 4 teams. We close things out talking about the Jets practicing with the Eagles, the running back situation and how much Michael Carter will play a factor in the run game, and will Keelan Cole beat out Mims.  We also each give out take on what we are most looking forward to at training camp which opens in two weeks...

This episode we get into the upcoming deadline to sign Marcus Maye to an extension or he will be playing under the tag. We are all in agreement that they should indeed resign him, though we differ on the how much...but not by much. We also discuss how important his signing would be to the overall foundation and culture that the team is creating.  Staying with contracts and culture, we discuss two guys we think the Jets should attempt to resign right now before the season starts and they blow up. Foley Fatukasi and JFM should both have great seasons this year and if they hit the market, they will be gone. With Trevor Lawrence signing his deal, we talked about the hold up on Zach Wikson and AVT not signing their's, with Matt giving a quick breakdown on what offset language is. Staying with Zach, we did a little projecting and we each gave a prediction on what his statline would be this season. We were all different, but if he hits any of our numbers, we will all be happy. We took some time to discuss how PFF has the Jets ranked as the 3rd most improved team this year behind the Pats and Browns while also simultaneously having us with the 28th worth roster...Finally, we talk a little bit about the Jets and Packers practicing together for their preseason game and how this can positively affect the players and the coaching staff.

In this episode we discuss the June 15-17 mandatory mini that took place and where we think the team will go moving forward. We give our take on Zach and Elijah's ascending play and outlook, the injuries being dealt with by Mims, Becton and others, the talk around Mims and Herndon taking 2nd team reps, and how much will not having an experienced back up will matter. On the defensive side of the ball we talked about Lawson's chances of otherworldly play, the importance of Q and the front seven, as well as the emergence of Jason Pinnock and Hamseh Nasirildeen. There were other things at play in camp besides the play. Crowder and the team coming to an agreement on his contract situation as well as Maye not having a long term resolution were two of the bigger stories happening. We close thongs out with the things we would like to see happen over the next 6 weeks before training camp starts.

Continuing our OTA camp conversations, we talk about all the things that took place this past week or so. Zach Wilson continues to impress with his passing abilities and work ethic. Elijah Moore continues to impress with his playmaker capabilities. And Keelan Cole, Denzel Mims and Braxton Berrios shows we have capable depth. The defensive front is working it's way into form being led by Carl Lawson whom, Saleh and Ulbrich absolutely love. Also in this episode we talk about what is going on with Crowder's absence from OTAs due to his contract situation. Honestly it comes as a bit of a headscratcher to me because the Jets aren't up against the cap and Crowder has been the best and most consistent player since he arrived. We are hoping that they work this out and he remains a Jet. With the talk of Bectons injury and weight, alot has been made of the Jets bringing in Morgan Moses.....and honestly now it makes alot of sense. We have a little around the NFL talk about the Julio trade and what Atlanta got for him and how competent Joe D has looked in the trades he has made and the returns he has gotten.
