Welcome to the thirty fourth episode of The Fo0H Tribe Podcast, Where Men Can Be Men!

If you are new to the podcast, my process for getting out information to you has changed overtime and it evolves and shifts weekly depending on a number of factors. Since I have a "better than average understanding" of what I want to try and accomplish for this podcast, the process of getting there isn't very fluid or structured at all. I kind of like it that way. I'm adding little tweaks here and there and trying new words and their definitions as I  sift through new ideas and absorb more information from other experts. Some might say it's a "creative" process and I wouldn't argue. It ebbs and flows on a daily basis. 

Up until this this episode, I've shared some personal stories/experiences with you throughout the SOAM 2023 Study. This is first time I attempt to just lay it out there for you, the listener to hopefully try and identify instead of compare. This isn't a competition so you don't need to worry yourself with who has the better or more compelling personal stories. It's my hope, my personal stories might compel anyone to stop for a moment and consider searching inwardly for how any personal experiences may of shaped or modeled you in the person you. Has it been a benefit to you? If so, how? If it's a liability, how has it taxed you? Do tell yourself you shouldn't look or are you at a point when NOW might be the time to consider searching? 

In my story, alcohol beat me into submission and I was compelled by a disease once I reached of place of being totally emotional and spiritually broken. I was in a dark, cold and deep ditch all by myself, convincing myself I wasn't partially responsible for the reason why I was in this ditch.  It was then and only then, after accepting my actions might have lead me to this point of despair when I became willing to ask for help. To my shock, I received it and I haven't looked back since. In the coming month, I plan on putting some kind of "course" work together for those who have "accepted" and are "willing" to venture down a new road of discovery. More to come on that later.

So sit back and listen, chill out, grab a beverage, do whatever you have to do to relax and come on a walk with me down my personal "memory lane" and take it for what it is. Just my story, nothing earth shattering. There isn't going to be any movie scripts written about my average normal every day life, I can tell you that for sure. If you learn anything from my story or can identify with anything, then that's a home run for me.

Welcome to the thirty third episode of The Fo0H Tribe Podcast, Where Men Can Be Men. 

This week, I build off again last weeks episode and make some more updates to the definitions of Men and In-Between Men. With these updates, I've also applied 2 different stages of Men and 2 different stage of In-Between Men. I kept it short and sweet and next week I plan on adding more details. Maybe I'll even include some real-life examples of how these stages could apply to anyone. 

The purpose of the 2+2 stages of both men is to try and help men to focus on how they are engaging the world around them, how they are responding to the world around, how one or more aspects of a Traditional Male Value system gives them real value and worth. It also provides and opportunity to determine if there are any questions you might have about some of the traditional male value system that doesn't apply to or maybe what they don't like about how they are being stereotyped. 

In the end, there are three words that are important to point out in each of the stages. 

1. Understand
2. Question
3. Accept

I'll provide more context in this weeks episode and I'm confident you will notice that within each stage there is a focus on emotional / spiritual substance & growth. I believe men are seeking a tool box to help them learn how to navigate through emotional challenges they have been told to repress for years. Men haven't been taught how to embrace many emotional challenges and this is really my first attempt to help men identify they aren't "weak minded" for seeking help in this area. Welcome to episode thirty third episode of The Fo0H Tribe Podcast, Where Men Can Be Men!

Over the weekend, Butch and I went in deep to the catacombs of our minds to come up with an UPDATE to our previous weeks podcast, The In-Between Men. What we uncovered, thanks to the SOAM 2023 Study, was the researchers who put this report together included a generational definition to each of the various different age groups of the men in the study. Butch found that interesting and highlighted it with a yellow marker.

What I realized after publishing last weeks podcast was the view I had of all the men in the study was from my personal (Generation X) male perspective and not the perspectives of the men within the study. I asked myself, could each generation have their own definition of what a "male value system" is and could be different or align with mine? The answer to the question was YES each generation does have a different and more progressive view of how they define their own "male value system".  I believe they are more open to the idea of "emotional and/or spiritual" growth.

Furthermore, with this new understanding and view, I re-wrote the definition of how men view and value themselves in the world today. I also talked about how the traditional "male view system" does help men identify with values, successes and failures can shape them into a man they are proud. I am 100% okay with men finding comfort and value with this definition and not exploring additional areas of emotional and/or spiritual growth. If it works for you, it works for me. PERIOD!

I also rewrote the definition of The In-Between to include two different buckets, the men who have accepted (it doesn't have to be 100%) that one or more values of the traditional definition of manhood could lack emotional and/or spiritual substance, but reject and deny the notion it applies to them.

The 2nd bucket of In-Between is the same definition, but instead of rejecting or denying the notion of emotional and/or spiritual growth, they embrace and make a decision to move forward in their quest for one or both options. If you want to learn or hear more, please tune into this weeks podcast.

Welcome to the thirty second episode of The Fo0H Tribe Podcast, Where Men Can Be Men! I'm not lying.

So this week we make the move out of The State Of American Men 2023 Study and on to a new topic, "The In-Between Men".

This episode I will share with you the foundation I built through my understanding and interpretation of some of the data that was shared in the SOAM 2023 Study. There were two sentences in the data from The SOAM 2023 from Headline/Topic #6 Trust No One that really hooked me. I get into the details in the front 1/2 of this podcast. 

Furthermore, last week I received a book from a very close and personal mentor of mine. I believe the book also highlights one or more challenges the common every day man faces on a daily basis and I share some of the details written in the book.

Finally, I put together my own definition of what I believe is, "The In-Between Men".  I know I needed to do this for myself to hopefully provide some guidance and direction on how we could proceed moving forward. We will see or not!

Welcome to the thirty first episode of The Fo0H Tribe Podcast, "Where Men...can be men!".

It's hard to believe that it's been six months since we published our first podcast. I'm confirming, time does fly when you're having fun and not only am I having fun I'm also learning a lot.

I felt compelled this week to publish an UPDATE on what The Fo0H Tribe Podcast is. When I first started, I knew I really wanted to highlight and promote all the dudes who are a part of The Fo0H Tribe. During the course of doing that, I pivoted. I wasn't sure where the pivot was going to take me, but I'm sure glad I ventured down the path.

Sharing the The State-Of-American-Men 2023 Study with all of you has been a very wonderful process for me and hopefully you as well. It was during the eight months of putting the episodes together when I realized the pivot and why I needed to alter from my original course.

Our Mission Statement will stay the same, "Create an environment where men CAN feel valued and respected, while also supporting the growth of other men." The only real official change is in our description and I need to give thanks to Ms. Randi for helping confirm and write the description.

Welcome to the 30th episode of The Fo0H Tribe Podcast, Where Men Can Be Men.

It's time to wrap this baby up with a bow and move on. What are we moving on to? I have no idea, but stick around, I'll figure something out.

We've come full circle. Hopefully we all have a better understanding why men have been struggling. In this episode, we close this journey out with broad strokes.

What I've learned during this process is sharing this research with you is, Research is Research, nothing else. It provide a glimpse into the mindset of a group of men and how they view the world and try to navigate through it.

Thankfully we live in a country that allows us to believe in whatever we want and go about our day. There are benefits to trying to live a purposeful and meaningful life and there can be consequences if we decide not to. This isn't a judgement zone, you do you and the real question is, if you aren't content and feeling fulfilled, what are YOU going to do about. We all learn at our own pace and experience the day, week, month and year differently. How you decide to Smash The Day, is 100% up to you.

My question to you is, do you think you can do better? Do you want to try to do better? What is missing and why? What can I do to help you get closer to what is more meaningful and positive for you, not the ladder. I hope you are able to take in all of this information we've compiled over last two months of our podcast and experience it with an open mind. Nothing more. You are in 100% control of all next steps, whatever they may be.

Welcome to the twenty ninth episode of The Fo0H Tribe Podcast, Where Men Can Be Men.

Woooooo....Weee. In this this episode, we dive into the final headline/topic from the State-Of-American-Men 2023 research study and it doesn't disappoint. Into the Man Box!

One of the many things I noticed while digesting this research over the last eight weeks is the data. The data offers up representative results or non-representative results based on the questions it's asking the participants. It's a snapshot into a window of time confirming or denying how men view, embrace, believe, respond and react to dynamics they encounter in their every day world.

The last three podcasts I published and the information we went over left me feeling uncomfortable. Talking about it, sharing the information and sharing any personal experiences have left me  "emotionally drained." The data in this research really confirms how much of an upward battle we have in front of us. I have more thoughts on this during this podcast. 

My initial thoughts are to try and keep any next steps about helping men as simple as possible. I'm still working on this, so more to come in upcoming episodes.

Welcome to the twenty eight episode of The Fo0H Tribe Podcast, Where Men Can Be Men.

Like last week's episode, Topic #6 is short and sweet and that's not a bad thing. The Headline, "Trust No One", I believe, is confirmed in the research we are going to go over. There are a lot of dudes who don't trust what is going on in our country today and even more so, a majority of men are stuck somewhere in the middle of both polarizing arguments. We don't debate anymore, we argue why you're wrong and I'm right and then might consider getting into a fist fight. Kind of like what they do on Tekken 8 (gamer comedy, how could they get rid of Lei Wo Long?)

Just like last week, the research and the findings left me somewhat dumbfounded. I found myself asking, "Is this really the state that men are in right now?" It's grim gang and upsetting. I want to try and help my fellow man, but I just don't know how, YET!

During the back 1/2 of this podcast I share some thoughts of the top of my head that I think could help? I don't get into a lot of detail, but I do have a plan and once we get through next weeks topic #7 and a wrap-up episode the following week, if I'm ready and think it's worth it, I'll share my thoughts and possible next steps. The choice to engage will be ultimately up to you and if this isn't something you might consider, thats totally okay with me.  No pressure.

I do share some thoughts on why I think men are choosing to isolate and not consider looking inward for answers. It is a very scary topic, one I avoid for a very long time, until I was ready.  I do believe and know that the men who decide to look for answers inwardly are taking a big leap. The good news is, every time I've watched anyone take the leap, they have free fallen briefly, but all of them find their bearings and end up soaring long enough to landing safely. All of your results will depend on you, not anyone else.

Welcome to the twenty seventh episode of The Fo0H Tribe Podcast, Where Men Can Be Men.

I'll be honest, this episode was kind of like a "barbed wire pill" for me this week. Most of the information I shared, was tough to swallow. It was tough for a number of reasons. While reviewing the data, the information shared is confirming just how hard it is out there in the "real world" and marketplace for me & women of all cultures and backgrounds. I was at a loss for words and genuinely sad hearing and learning more about the real state of American men today. 

I did find myself trying to force myself to identify with my experience and at the end of the day,  I stopped, because I do happen my high school and college education I can fall back on. Not to mention all of my relevant work experience that an organization is willing to pay me to help them meet and exceed their goals. So you might notice a couple of times during this podcast when I start sharing my experience and realize that I'm not able to fully identify with the research. I do not want to pretend or try jamming a square peg in a round hole in or to try and relate with folks. The bottom line is, I do have my education and that does provide me with an advantage. I would be a hypocrite if I didn't admit this fact about myself and that is not what this podcast is about.

So this week's episode is a little shorter because I wasn't going to try and spend time sharing my personal experience if it doesn't actually reflect the information shared in this study. You would see through it and I would know it's not a true representation of the data shared.   

As far as the intro music, I just stumbled onto this bad and I thought their music was perfect for this week. The name of the band is, The Record Company and the title of the song is, Off The Ground! Selfishly, this process of getting to understand the data in the report has been VERY helpful for me. It's forced me to really take a look at what my part has been throughout my divorce. Candidly, I don't like it, but it's the necessary process we all go through when you're compelled to be BETTER.

I'm really trying to share relevant "personal examples" or "real life experiences" that I hope anyone could relate to. I'm not 100% sure if I'm doing that, but I'm going to continue to push on and assume for now, that things are good.   

One of the other challenges I've uncovered this week is, with have a Cattle Dog / Red Heeler, they act just like child. They know when I'm doing something important and don't like that I'm diverting any of my attention away from them. So the result of that is, anytime I put on my headphones, that are connected to my computer, Butch barks like a savage. I'm sure you can hear it on the Podcast, I'm trying to not to swear at him and I think I'm getting better, but Butch isn't. It looks like I'm down another one way street over here! I'm venture on!!

So sit back and relax, grab an icy cold beverage and grab a man chair in your man cave and melt into it. Buckle up, this will be an interesting one.
