We were blessed this week on the Pubcast with the presence of someone who actually knows something about Football! Tom from the Sunday People (the newspaper Mike's Mum and Dad read) joined Mike, Dan, Chris and Andy for the start of the show to give his thoughts on England, correct some pronunciations and make an error that someone covering the game at Wembley tonight really shouldn't...

Aside from that there was a look at the results from around the globe, the return of the A-League, a heated Frank Lampard related argument and about four still alive football personalities that the Pubcast killed off. Plus the boys revealed the origin of a peculiar listener nickname!

It was a distracted, feisty show this week as Mike, Dan, Andy, Jerome and Chris attempted to talk about football but often found themselves distracted by pretty much everything else (including Chicken Kievs and bedtime attire).

When they did manage to focus on the beautiful game there was a heated argument about Jack Wilshere and nationality rules, reviews of the key incidents from last weekend and plenty more!

Mike, Dan and Chris got together this week to debate the increasingly improving Arsenal, the turgidly dull Chelsea and whether United are better than Spurs.

In an epic 50 minute show the lads also covered a whole gamut of stuff - sexism, streaking, protesters, salacious gossip and a football legend. Plus TWO trivia questions and some cracking listener insights.

After last week's ego trip from Mike you might not be surprised that Dan, Andy and Jim decided to miss this week, but never fear as Chris and Jerome were back to step into the breach and join Mike for a far more civil chat about the weekend's action, the League Cup, Mario's meltdown and plenty more.

There were plenty of naughty boys in this week's Pubcast but unfortunately the majority of them were on the panel. Whether it was Mike letting his ego run wild, Dan refusing to let other people change the subject, Andy admitting his love of reality TV or Jim, well, being Jim, it was something of a turbulent show!

There was plenty of other chat however - "Hollywood" football, "non-Hollywood" football, match-fixing, reckless driving, spying, shoe laces, shirt swapping and much, much more. Not a show to be missed.

After a storming show last week the boys re-convened this week to discuss the fall out from the World Cup qualifiers. There was some heated debate between Mike, Dan, Andy and Chris about whether or not England were THAT bad and a look at the results across the rest of Europe and beyond.

On top of that there was a bizarre mixture of topics - domestic violence, incest, naughty physios, testimonials and sectarian violence against a Catholic Boxer Dog. Plus the discovery of probably the greatest football video of all time...

This week's show can only be described as one of the best in Pubcast history!

Not only did Mike return (boo!) and make a somewhat mixed attempt at continuing the game show theme from last week's show but he also introduced an utterly fantastic "game show host" jacket. Of course, Jim took it upon himself to adopt said jacket (and see the show picture, its hideous).

But further to that the boys (Mike, Jim, Dan, Chris and a late arriving Andy) had a rollicking good time arguing about how good Arsenal are, how embarrassing United were, deadline day, Hastings, the Heart, the Football Blogging Awards and a load more stuff. Definitely not a show to be missed!

Dan, Jim and Andy ventured down to Henry's this week with the seemingly impossible task of covering all of the week's football. Everything from the Champions League to the goal-fest that was the League Cup was discussed, debated and generally argued about. The show even kicked off with the Pubcast's very own version of Family Fortunes but I won't spoil the surprise....

With Coxon MIA this week many thought the Pubcast would fall to pieces. However up stepped Jim who took the reigns and hosted a great show and to be honest no one even realised Mike was missing! The Pubcasters headed to Henry's to chat about the week's football whilst basking in glorious sunshine. To say there was a "sight" or two to be held wandering around Canary Wharf was an understatement. There was a début from new Pubcaster "Gooner Chris" (as Jim quickly named him) who played the full 45 minutes and impressed his new team mates on his first appearance. It was the first round of the Premier League this weekend and with last week's Internationals and all of the rest of the Football League there was loads to discuss, including Arsenal's dismal start to the season (sorry Chris............I'm not sorry).

The boys got together on Wednesday for their weekly chat about all things football (or "fitba" for all the Scots who were in London during the week) and looked back at last weekend's results and ahead to the internationals and the return of the Premier League. There was talk about shocking goalkeeping, the poor bar service and, of course, birthday boy Mario Balotelli...

p.s. Now we're not the most professional guys in the world, but at least we have the good grace to admit when we need to #learntodescribebetter...unlike the Mirror and their shocking badge mix up!
