The Football Pubcast's posts

The boys descended upon Henry's this week with a new Pubcaster in their ranks. The good news is he's a knowledgeable, likeable chap who follows his team home and away. The bad news is he's another Spurs fan...don't let that put you off though!

Alex (he has a name) joined Mike, Dan, Andy and Jerome to have a look at the start of the new season in the Football League and Europe, discuss the incredibly boring transfer sagas that continue to roll on and marvel at Mario Balotelli's piano skills.

There was also time to marvel at the Heart's impressive pre-season form, a couple of naughty boys and a new adopted team! Definitely a show not to be missed, also listen out early next week for some Extra Time as Mike (and some real United fans) go to Wembley for the over-blown friendly at the weekend...

The lads were excited this week as they re-convened ahead of the new season to give their annual pre-season predictions. Looking at the leagues from the Conference up the boys (Mike, Dan, Jim and Andy) gave their views on who'll succeed, who'll fail, who'll surprise and how they think their own clubs will fare (don't worry, there wasn't too much Bale chat).

On top of that there was the usual skewed look at transfer news, pre-season results, funny stories and a (sort of) apology to Celtic fans.

The Pubcasters were back this week to (very belatedly) celebrate Jim's birthday with some excellent presents and well meant sentiment. Before the party could begin though Mike, Jim and Andy had plenty to talk about - transfer news, friendly reviews and the unfortunate passing of a couple of football legends.

Listen out next week for our pre-season preview show when we'll be running down the leagues and giving our predictions for next season.

We're back...again...for another tasty week of banter. It was only Mike and Andy but they found the time to discuss all manner of things including, finally, UNSUNG HEROES!

Tim Bevan will be happy...

Pubcast 135

The boys are back in town this week with agonising "man area" news and heart warming info about the newest addition to the Pubcast family.

Mike, Andy and Dan also found time to talk a little bit about football. The Confederations Cup, Euro U21s and World Cup qualifiers were high on the agenda but there was also time to discuss the fixtures for the new season, transfer gossip, a record number of naughty boys and a certain Director of Football at a certain comedy club in the North East...

You can tell that the season is well and truly over when one of the main topics of conversation on the Pubcasters agenda is the Under 21 European Championships.

But don't worry, as usual the boys (Mike, Dan, Andy and a returning Jim) managed to make even that sound exciting! There were also lively discussions on transfer news, managerial changes, the England team's performance in Brazil, World Cup qualifiers, naughty boys and, of course, your questions (keep sending them in!).

The season might be officially over but there's still plenty for the Pubcasters to discuss and Mike, Dan and Andy did just that. From the Champions League to the Championship playoff, from goalscoring goalies to gun-toting gimboids it was all go, and furthermore the boys answered some of YOUR questions...keep sending them in and throughout the summer we'll keep answering them!

Dan, Jerome and Andy were representing Team Pubcast this week at the MatchPint Pub quiz in central London and as such recorded the show before, during and after their valiant efforts at upholding the Pubcast's excellent knowledge of all things sport...they covered a lot of ground and had a laugh or two along the way, but did they secure the victory or did they fail the good name of the Pubcast? Only one way to find out...

Tune in next week for our end of season review and Listener's Q&A - submit your questions on all things football to @FootballPubcast or via Facebook.

Mike, Jerome and Andy decamped to Henrys once again for another week of fun and frivolity. • Fergie’s last game at Old Trafford

• Mancini gets sacked

• Rooney hands in a transfer request

• Rio quits England

• Wigan win the cup but go down

• Chelsea prepare for the Europa League Final

• Lampard “signs” a new contract

• Van Bommel retires

• Playoff Drama

• Porto beat Benfica

• Loic Remy arrested

• Not quite an hour of Phil Bardsley

• Duncan Disorderly for Everton?

• And lots, lots more…
