im back! after four weeks off (i never want to be gone that long again...), i have a LOT to share. life has been hectic and crazy, but its also in those seasons of life where we learn incredibly valuable lessons. as we welcome fall, we also welcome a lot of craziness in life, and so today, i share some of the things that i've been going through in the past few weeks and the lessons ive learned from them.

as a new school year begins, its important to reflect on your goals for the coming months ahead. i like to set a theme/intention for each school year, and this year, my theme is the idea of focus. focus when it comes to discipline and studying, focus when it comes to recognizing what is truly important in high school life, and really seeing things in a big-picture perspective. i'm honestly pretty excited for what sophomore year has to offer, so let's see where it goes!

celebrating the small wins, whether in the general journey of life or in reaching for a particular goal, is one of the most motivating things you can do. appreciating the work that you put into a particular goal, or to life in general, is really what it boils down to. these small milestones also serve as understanding for harder times, and help us to recognize that our journeys are made of hills and valleys, and that determination and perseverance will help us get to the next milestone.

we all have this point where our routines/ practices start to feel boring, or we're not getting as much value from them as we used to. that feeling is the first sign that its time to ignite a "controlled burn" in your life, meaning its time to change, rethink and shake up your routine. and just like in a forest, a controlled burn leaves the ecosystem with more abundance and growth, so working to change your practices for the better will pay off.

these five actions are some of my fav ways to facilitate deep inner conversations, whether its to understand more about myself as part of a learning journey, or its to clear up the root of some problem. these particular actions are also just regular old acts of self-care, but approaching them (or any other activity, for that matter) with the intention of digging deeper into yourself will spark your inner growth more than ever before.
