Svitlana from Ukraine has had to apply for a few visas but also has already worked for an embassy, some visa companies and now is in the visa department for a dance company. But we came together to talk about her side business, which is what caught my attention on Instagram. She developed Otter and Eve, a handcrafted nursery décor company, all by her herself during lockdown last year. Although it is going well, she still prefers to keep it as a side business. Svitlana gives great tips about her country, which she confirms it is safe the visit and worth the money since the pound is quite strong there. Rosita, my first Cuban, is here to tell us what life was like there back when Fidel Castro was in power, the real situation about the world renowned doctors, who is talented enough to dance salsa and how she overcame her imposter syndrome as a foreigner in the UK. Rosita moved to Manchester to be close to her Cuban husband who already lived in the UK. She has had since lots of firsts in this country, such as trying her first McDonalds, going to big automated stores with just a till and a scanner, having a baby here when she could barely speak any English. She also told me how doing TikToks during lockdown got her work for the beauty brand Monet and also about getting back to work as a dental nurse, as she had always wanted.

In Today’s episode I had a lovely chat to Rohini, an amazing guest from India. She used to work in finance but after her maternity leave, she decided to take on a position with the Clapham Mums website, never to go back to her finance job. She talked me through how she managed to make such a change and how inspirational her mum was. Rohini also guided me through where she had been in India and where she would still love to go to, which gives anyone a better idea of potential places to visit in her country.

After a month break, the podcast is back! And I spoke to the chef Marni who explained a little bit what life was like growing up in Khao-Sarn, the very famous and lively street in Bangkok where she was surrounded by lovely street food. That experience gave her a bit of a base and inspiration for her recipes that she have developed through the years in the UK. She managed to go from cooking for survival to actually developing a hobby which is bringing her recognition through her social media and events. Her success comes from developing easy Thai food with British produce. We spoke about why she moved to the UK, Thai stereotypes, her professional career, being Buddhist, her point of view on the animal welfare in her country and more.

Today in episode 51, I have the pleasure of bringing you the fabulous Wendy, a South African Healthy Habits coach. Wendy talks about her childhood growing up in South Africa. When she was only 12 Apartheid ended and she explains what was it like to live there as a white person through it all. We also spoke about how she met her husband, their IVF baby and her career from the early days to where it is today. It sounds amazing as Wendy is incredible at what she does but she is also one of these people who does what she preaches by working hard as well as managing to find time in her busy schedule for herself and her family.
