Alex, Zach, and Joe guide listeners through various topics such as Farming and Crafting in Games, Emulation, their most anticipated releases, and what games are occupying their time. A new episode is typically uploaded every Monday with two shows alternating on this feed. One week we have the regular show, The Forever Classic Podcast, which focuses on various topics. The other week we have the deep-dive series, The Grand Electric Archives, that explores specific games in a book club-style format.

Obscured beneath the hum of electricity pulsing through a cathode-ray tube and slipped between several dimensional layers lies a wondrous library of digital treasures. Known as The Grand Electric Archives, this collection is cared for by a young scholar who can often be seen sorting items, directing guests, and trying to keep his large bouncing hat from flopping away. Those who visit The Grand Electric Archives are given the freedom to explore the collected pieces of media without worry of the outside world.
The archive is a haven for the curious and the path to its doors is open.
Produced by Forever Classic Games LLC, The Grand Electric Archives is a podcast where our hosts take the time to focus on a single game. Usually coupled with a recent playthrough and often paired with contextual history, these episodes are dedicated to exploring games beyond the typical hype cycles that dominate most conversations around these titles.
Hosted by Alex McCumbers and Justin Wood (The Here's Johnny Podcast, DreadXP, Pride, etc) this episode is dedicated to NieR:Automata, a genre-bending third-person action game from PlatinumGames with publishing support from Square Enix. The game was directed by Yoko Taro, an infamous character in game design whose legacy also includes the Drakengard series. Works also explored as supplementary material for this episode include the anime adaptation Nier: Automata Ver1.1a as well as a collection of short stories titled Short Story Long.

Released on March 3rd 2017, the Nintendo Switch completely changed how we play games. Combining portability with console gaming is something we want to have indefinitely and hopefully, we'll see more iterations in the future from Nintendo and other companies; Valve has already leaned into this with the Steam Deck. Join Alex, Zach, and Joe as they reminisce about six years of gaming on Switch and what they hope to see in the future for a potential Nintendo Switch 2.

It's a great time to be a gamer! Zach, Alex, and Joe lay out their most anticipated things in gaming for 2023.
There is a lot to consider when looking at 2023 in games. The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are fairly available at retail and new games are starting to push the hardware more. The PSVR2 is just around the corner ready to stand against some of the biggest VR headsets and the ease-of-use of the Meta Quest 2. The iiRcade is still a platform to watch as its library slowly expands. The Steam Deck is quickly becoming one of the best tools for content creators and writers. Lots of major series are getting new entries such as Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, and more. Indies like Hollow Knight Silksong have us on pins and needles. There's just so much!
