Zach, Alex, and Joe have a meaningful interview with one of the minds behind Shovel Knight, arguably the most influential indie game series in recent history. From humble Kickstarter beginnings to a cameo in Super Smash Bros, Sean Velasco shares with us tons of insight into the work behind these platforming experiences, the sorts of games they would love to make next, and the various games that have piqued his interest.
Just moments after the marathons concluded, Alex caught up with David Swick and Doug Spears on their Extra Life marathon world record attempts. Doug played 300 Rock Band songs on expert drums without failing for over 27 hours and David marathoned Pokemon Shield without losing a battle for over 28 hours. Both records are being submitted to Guinness.
Alex and Joe chat about the latest news including rumors surrounding Bluepoint Games maybe doing a remake of Demons Souls or Legend of Dragon, a possible return of The Order 1866, an exclusive streaming deal for Activision esports, the all-lady speedrunning event Frost Fatales, DUSK mods, and more. Anchoring the chat is a discussion of what games we would like to see remade and what development group should do it.
