Story Transcript:

Cy: Wrth i'r haul godi dros dref ganoloesol Gymreig, roedd Geraint yn teimlo'r poen yn ei ben fel ergyd o haearn boeth.
En: As the sun rose over a medieval Welsh town, Geraint felt the pain in his head like a strike from hot iron.

Cy: Roedd ei gorff yn crynu ac roedd haul y bore'n brathu ei groen fel glaw tân.
En: His body was trembling and the morning sun bit into his skin like a rain of fire.

Cy: Roedd y ffair y gwanwyn wedi cyrraedd, a'r dref yn llawn pobl a sŵn.
En: The spring fair had arrived, and the town was full of people and noise.

Cy: Roedd pawb ar Heol Fawr yn brysur.
En: Everyone on Heol Fawr was busy.

Cy: Roedd stondinau lliwgar yn llifo â chynhyrchion oedd yn llewyrchu dan olau'r haul.
En: Colorful stalls overflowed with products that gleamed under the sunlight.

Cy: O'r cyfeiriad arall, roedd arogl cig rhost yn llenwi'r aer.
En: From another direction, the aroma of roasted meat filled the air.

Cy: Roedd sgrechfeydd plant yn cymysgu â'r sain o gerddoriaeth draddodiadol o'r tavarn gerllaw.
En: The shrieks of children mingled with the sound of traditional music from the nearby tavern.

Cy: Byddai'n ddiwrnod arbennig i’r dref gyfan.
En: It would be a special day for the entire town.

Cy: Geraint, prentis gof ifanc, oedd yn gwybod bod hwn yn ddiwrnod pwysig iddo.
En: Geraint, a young blacksmith's apprentice, knew it was an important day for him.

Cy: Roedd cyllell hardd newydd yn gorwedd yn ei ddwylo wlyb.
En: A beautiful new knife lay in his damp hands.

Cy: Roedd wedi gweithio drwy'r sul a'r stormydd i greu rhywbeth eithriadol i'r meistr.
En: He had worked through Sundays and storms to create something exceptional for the master.

Cy: Byddai’r arf hon yn ei helpu i gael dyrchafiad a phrofi ei hun.
En: This weapon would help him earn a promotion and prove himself.

Cy: Ond roedd gwres yn ei gorff yn anhygynghori.
En: But the heat in his body was overpowering.

Cy: Wrth i fêr y dref gamu allan o'i siop gwasgog, Geraint feibionodd ei wyneb, yn gobeithio cuddio'r llesgedd.
En: As the mayor of the town stepped out of his bustling shop, Geraint steeled his face, hoping to hide his weakness.

Cy: Wrth iddo gamu ymlaen, teimlai'r byd o’i gwmpas yn troi, fel pe bai’n cerdded mewn breuddwyd od.
En: As he moved forward, he felt the world spinning around him, as if he were walking in a strange dream.

Cy: Barod â'r cyllell ei law, fe wynebodd ei meistr gyda chwythiad gwan.
En: Knife in hand, he faced his master with a weak breath.

Cy: "Dyma, meistr," meddai Geraint yn esmwyth, "Yr arf sydd gen i ar eich cyfer chi."
En: "Here, master," Geraint said smoothly, "The weapon I have for you."

Cy: Ond cyn iddo allu ymestyn mwy, daeth heintiad o dywyllwch a chwympodd Geraint i’r llawr coblog.
En: But before he could extend it further, a wave of darkness came over him, and Geraint fell to the cobblestone ground.

Cy: Y sŵn yn pylu dros y bwsig a’r gynulleidfa yn crynhoi.
En: The sound faded over the crowd focusing in.

Cy: Cododd ei feistr yn brysur ato.
En: His master quickly rose to him.

Cy: “Geraint! Bydd ar dy draed!” ond yr unig ateb oedd mudandod.
En: “Geraint! Get on your feet!” But the only response was silence.

Cy: Pan ddaeth Geraint ato'i hun, roedd ei feistr yn edrych yn garedig arno.
En: When Geraint came to, his master was looking kindly at him.

Cy: "Geraint, fy mab," dywedodd y gof, "Gwelaf dy ymroddiad.
En: "Geraint, my boy," said the blacksmith, "I see your dedication.

Cy: Ond mae dy iechyd yn bwysicach na geiniog.
En: But your health is more important than a coin.

Cy: Mae'n rhaid i ni ofalu amdanat."
En: We must take care of you."

Cy: Gyda hynny, cymerodd y cyllell a nodweddodd: “Pan wellwch, bydd y dyrchafiad yn dy ddisgwyl.”
En: With that, he took the knife and remarked: “When you recover, the promotion will await you.”

Cy: Wrth orwedd yno, gwelodd Geraint hud a gwerth go iawn.
En: Lying there, Geraint saw true magic and worth.

Cy: O'r herwrydd hwnnw, dysgodd, na allai rhoi gormod o bwyslais ar gryfder dynol heb ystyried bregusrwydd.
En: From that day, he learned that he couldn't put too much emphasis on human strength without considering vulnerability.

Cy: Pan gychwynnodd y ffair eto, gwybuwyd nad oedd cryfder mewn cuddio, ond mewn cydnabod pryd roedd angen gofalu am ei hun.
En: When the fair resumed, it became known that there was no strength in hiding, but in recognizing when to take care of oneself.

Cy: Aeth y diwrnod ymlaen, gydag awyrgylch y ffair yn rhyddhau’r pwysau oddi ar y dref, tra’r wiw yr oedd Geraint yn nodi cydbwysedd newydd rhwng breuddwydion a realiti.
En: The day went on, with the atmosphere of the fair releasing the pressure off the town, while Geraint noted a new balance between dreams and reality.

Cy: Roedd wedi dysgu gwers bwysig a oedd yn ei wneud yn gryfach na chyllell neu swrth.
En: He had learned an important lesson that made him stronger than any knife or sword.
