On the heels of rising tensions in the country for the past few weeks, The Atlantic magazine published an article that cites multiple unnamed sources claiming President Trump had made comments privately disparaging service members of the U.S. military. President Trump and the White House have denied these claims in a press conference, calling the story a hoax. Rob Rafson is the President of Chart House Energy in Michigan. • Fox News Rundown Extra: Who Is A Bigger Threat To Our Election Security: China Or Russia?
Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe created an uproar in Washington recently when he told lawmakers that his office will be scaling back in-person briefings on election security to Congress. Instead they are providing written reports, in hopes to cut back on leaking. Democrats, who have blamed the Trump administration in the past for downplaying election threats, especially from Russia, immediately slammed the decision.
While Ratcliffe's decision created the typical political sparring, it also raised questions about the 2020 election and what countries like Russia and China are doing to interfere.
On the FOX News Rundown earlier their week, Fox News Contributor and former CIA Station Chief, Daniel Hoffman joined host Jessica Rosenthal to discuss election security, what our intelligence community is doing to combat foreign interference and why he thinks both parties need to put the politics aside when it comes to protecting our democracy.
Hoffman revealed some insightful information about the goals and tactics of countries like Russia, who have been accused of meddling in our prior elections. He also discussed how American defense agencies are working to stop their efforts.
The original conversation was too long and we could not include all of it in our original segment. On The FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear our entire conversation with former CIA Station Chief Daniel Hoffman.

The issue of America's civil unrest is front and center this week in the 2020 presidential race.
Both President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden visited sites of riots and destruction in Kenosha, Wisconsin and proposed their own solutions to the violence in several of our nation's cities.
On Wednesday,  Senator Rand Paul joined host Jessica Rosenthal on the 'Rundown' to weigh in on the ongoing violent protests across the country and how he thinks we can bring an end to the riots and looting.
The Kentucky Republican shared his story of being confronted by angry protesters after the Republican National Convention in D.C. last week. He also suggested some ways to crack down on those he believes are funding the violent demonstrators. While Paul believes the violence has gone way too far, he discussed his long held belief that our police departments should be reformed and why he wrote the Justice for Breonna Taylor Act that would prohibit no-knock warrants.
Our conversation was too long and we played only a portion of it during our original segment. On The FOX News Rundown Extra you will hear  our entire conversation with Senator Paul and get more of his take on what can be done to bring peace to America's streets.
