  • Controversy Over Keystone XL: Could the Pipeline Ease Prices at the Pump?

    The Biden administration's ban on Russian energy imports has prompted a spike in energy prices in the U.S. However, the President was unsuccessful when reaching out to Saudi Arabia and the UAE to boost oil exports. President Biden halted the Keystone XL pipeline in 2021 citing environmental concerns, but some are using the nation’s oil predicament as a reason to revive the project. Congressman Buddy Carter (R-GA) joins to explain why he introduced legislation to restart the Keystone XL pipeline, how U.S. energy independence relates to national security, and his desire to ease the regulatory burdens on energy production.

     

    Presidential Emergency Action Documents, or PEADs, are top secret executive orders from the president that are to be used in case of a national emergency. Former CIA operative and head of the Portman Square Group, Mike Baker is familiar with these classified programs and is now working to uncover them on his Science Channel show, “Black Files Declassified.” He joins the Rundown to discuss how these secret government orders may be utilized amid the war in Ukraine, questions surrounding UFOs and paranormal phenomena, and more of what we can expect in season two of his show.

    It has been over two weeks since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine, and countries across the globe have responded in solidarity with Ukraine. President Biden has imposed various sanctions since the war began, each aimed at damaging the Russian economy and impacting the oligarchs within Russian President Vladimir Putin’s circle. Having grown up in the Soviet Union, former Defense Intelligence Agency Officer Rebekah Koffler is familiar with Putin’s goals for the country. She joins to discuss her book, Putin’s Playbook: Russia’s Secret Plan to Defeat America, the resilience of Ukraine, and why she thinks sanctions aren’t enough to end Putin’s pursuit of war.

     

    On Tuesday, President Biden announced a ban on Russian energy imports including oil, natural gas, and coal. The President says this ban will target “the main artery of Russia's economy,” however the move is not without consequences domestically. U.S. gasoline prices rose to a new national record as global crude oil prices climbed as well. Fox Business Anchor David Asman joins to explain how the Russians could potentially find ways around U.S. energy sanctions, which policies are contributing to record-high gas prices in addition to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and why it's essential the Biden administration focus on producing more oil domestically instead of reaching out to countries like Venezuela or Saudi Arabia.
