Jim Burke died of cancer yesterday April 8, 2020. He grew up in Huntington, New York on Long Island. Burke helped Cortland State win a 1975 national championship and he was a college All-American and all club selection with Long Island Lacrosse club. Burke is a 3 x national team selection in 1982, 1986 and 1990, He also served as a captain of his college team and the 1986 US national team. In 1986, he earned an All-World Team selection and was voted Outstanding Defenseman. In 1991, he won the Krongard Trophy for his contributions to the game as an active club player.
