  • 129 | 7 questions your website should answer to convert clients

Is your website actually doing its job to convert clients? Or is it just ‘nice enough’ but secretly dropping the ball once you’ve sent people there from Instagram 👀.

Your dream clients have a tonne of questions in their head when they land on your website, and if you're not answering them, they're clicking away and booking someone who does. In this episode I'm diving into the 7 questions your website copy needs to be answering, so that your site is working FOR you (not dropping the ball).

  • 128 | From service-provider to ‘personal brand / founder’

if you're a service-based business owner and your whole online presence revolves around your portfolio and testimonials, your potential clients are going to compare you to everyone else who just shares their work.

But when you build a personal brand? You become incomparable. People follow you for you, your approach and your opinions. They build real trust in you as a person, so by the time they get in touch, they've basically already decided they want to work with you.

In this episode I'm getting into why that shift from service provider to personal brand is more important than ever.

  • 127 | My thoughts on AI as a website designer

Lately if you have a scroll through social media comment sections, it feels like you have to be either pro-AI or anti-AI, with no room for a real conversation in the middle. So in this (slightly rambly) episode, I want to open up that conversation and zoom out a little!

I'm sharing how I'm approaching AI as a website designer, a business owner who loves tech, and someone who also loves the environment, and I'm diving into a few angles I think are missing from a lot of the discourse.

Plus you’ll learn how I'm using AI intentionally in my own business in 2026.

  • 126 | Motherhood changed my business brain chemistry

I can't quite believe I'm saying this, but my baby turned 1 this week 🥹

12 of being a self-employed new mum (running on a genuinely alarmingly low amount of sleep) has taught me more than I expected, so this is a reflective one.

I'm sharing the 3 biggest ways having a baby has changed how I run my business and how I think: why less time has made me ruthlessly simplify (fewer tools, fewer subscriptions, less faffing), how I realised I'm a chronic over-optimiser and why letting go of that has made me calmer, and the way it's completely changed how I feel about aspirational vs relatable content, both the stuff I consume and the stuff I create 🤍

  • 125 | Fix this BEFORE spending hours creating content

You’re pouring hours into content (more Reels, more carousels, "maybe I need to start a YouTube channel" etc) and have convinced yourself that's what'll finally get you more clients - while barely touching the one thing that actually converts all that traffic: your website.

What would actually happen if you went viral tomorrow? Would your website be ready to turn those people into paying clients, or would they land, get confused, and leave? 👀

Before you make another piece of content, follow the checklist in this episode to make sure your website is ready to do the work for you!

  • 124 | How to deal with difficult clients (my WASABI model)

Ever got midway through a project with a client who's got you screaming silently into a pillow? Or lying awake at night because your brain won't stop worrying about a certain project? Or picked up alarm bells from a potential client you can't quite put your finger on?

Honestly we’ve all been there. BUT before you rant about them on Threads (please don't do this 😅) or go and kick a doorframe, I want to give you a mindset model to move forward positively instead 🍣

  • 123 | How can you scale a service-based business model?

What happens when you’ve hit capacity for your 1:1 done-for-you services? You can’t physically take on any more clients and you’ve already upped your prices. What happens next if you want to grow your revenue?

I'm walking through the 3 typical business models that service businesses use to grow past that ceiling, including a sneaky 4th one no one really talks about…

  • 122 | Substack, blogging, and SEO in the era of AI

It feels like Substack is everywhere right now, and honestly it's giving 2015 blogging renaissance vibes! But should you start one INSTEAD of a blog or an email list?

In this episode I'm getting into where Substack genuinely fits vs where it really doesn't, the big difference between renting your audience and owning it, and the question I get asked constantly right now: is blogging for SEO even worth it anymore when everyone's asking ChatGPT and Claude instead of Googling?

(Plus why AI traffic might actually be better for you.)

  • 121 | What planning a wedding taught me about service business websites

As a website designer, I’m usually the one building the websites, not hiring people from them 😅 But planning our wedding flipped me into full customer mode, trawling through supplier websites and getting weirdly worked up about the same things I bang on about to my clients all day long.

So this episode got a little bit ranty (with love, I promise) as I walk through the things that drove me up the wall as a customer, and the stuff every service business website really needs if you want people to trust you, contact you, and book you.

(Plus, the story of how one of our dogs made our wedding ceremony very memorable…)

  • 120 | 3 years on! How has online marketing changed in 2026?

After three years away (a wedding, a honeymoon, a baby, and a whole lot of nappies later 🫠) The Freelance Fix is officially back. And oh boy, has the online business world changed while I've been gone.

In this comeback episode I'm catching you up on where I've been, then getting into the two big shifts I'm seeing in how we market our businesses online: how AI has completely changed the value of content (and why personal brands are the one thing it can't replace), plus the comeback of long-form content and why 2016 energy is back.

If you're a solo business owner craving a calmer, more human way to show up online (minus the hustle culture and marketing-bro nonsense), this one's for you 🌴
