If someone asked you to explain what exactly you believe as a Christian, with Scripture, would you be able to give a clear answer? We’re spending the next several weeks walking through some foundational beliefs and how you can better understand and explain them. Dr. Mike Stallard is in the studio with Chris to discuss God and His creation. We’ll finish our program with Apples of Gold, a dramatic reading from the life of Holocaust survivor Zvi Kalisher.

Happy New Year everyone! We are kicking off our first new program of 2020 with some news from Israel. Were you aware the Israeli people are headed to the polls for the third time to vote on a new Prime Minister? What are the issues in Israel and how can they unify? Chris will give some perspective on that and also encourage us the new year to take a look at where we find our worth. Is it in yourself or where Paul in 2 Corinthians 3 tells us, in Christ? We’ll finish our program with Apples of Gold, a dramatic reading from the life of Holocaust survivor Zvi Kalisher. For more, visit foiradio.org.

We take a deeper look into Jewish life this week as we continue the study on the diaspora, the scattering of the Jewish people all around the world beyond the land of Israel. We’ll see why fence laws were made by Jewish leaders and how Jesus responded to these man made laws. Then we’ll learn about a Jewish rabbi in the 13th century that made Jewish life easier for those living among the Gentiles. We’ll end our program with Apples of Gold, a dramatic reading from the life of Holocaust survivor Zvi Kalisher.

If you asked an Israeli where their family is from, many would answer Europe and the United States. But did you know that there are also Jewish people living in Botswana, Uruguay, and even Japan? This week Chris will explain the diaspora, the scattering of the Jewish people all around the world beyond Israel. He’ll answer the questions - why has God allowed this dispersion?..and what is God doing in the midst of it? We’ll end our program with Apples of Gold, a dramatic reading from Holocaust survivor Zvi Kalisher.

It’s time for Hanukkah! We’re continuing our discussion this week with Steve Herzig, North American Director here at The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry. Steve grew up in an orthodox Jewish home and brings a personal perspective to the Jewish holidays. This week he and Chris are discussing if and how believers in Jesus can celebrate Hanukkah. We will also hear Apples of Gold and news surrounding Israel. Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas everyone!

Hanukkah and Christmas falls on the same week this year! And this week we are talking all things Hanukkah. We welcome Steve Herzig, North American Director here at The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry to the program. Steve grew up in an orthodox Jewish home and brings a personal perspective to Jewish holidays. He and Chris will discuss everything from how to pronounce Hanukkah to why the Feast of Dedication (another name for Hanukkah) is not mentioned in the Old Testament. We will also hear Apples of Gold and hear about some exciting news coming from Israel.

This week, our executive producer Steve Conover sits down with our host Chris Katulka to talk about an article Chris wrote in Israel My Glory magazine entitled, “Home to Eden.” We’ll learn how Greek philosophy crept into Christian beliefs of heaven and what believers in Jesus really have to look forward to when we die. We hope this encourages you as we celebrate Emmanuel, God with us this month.

We welcome Trevor Stewart-Sweet to the program this week. Trevor is one of our representatives in the United Kingdom. History shows that the UK has been a friend to Israel and the Jewish people, but will this friendship last? We’ll then go back in history and hear a fascinating story about a Jewish man who defied the odds and became England’s Prime Minister. We’ll also hear news surrounding Israel and Apples of Gold, a dramatic reading from the life of Holocaust survivor Zvi Kalisher.
