On this Friday edition of the Front Page Football Podcast, host Christian Marchetti is joined by FPF writer Jake Holub to run the rule over a bunch of news items in the A-League Men and surrounding the Socceroos!
The boys first dissect Western United's 2-2 draw with Melbourne Victory in the A-League Men, where Daniel Penha continued his excellent form and Tony Popovic's side once again showcased their inconsistency (1:38). Elsewhere, the Mariners are through to the Inter-Zonal Final of the AFC Cup after a 0-0 draw in their second leg against Indian side Odisha, and Christian and Jake wonder if we should expect them to lift the trophy (10:56).
In other A-League Men news, rumours are circulating around the Western Sydney Wanderers and head coach Marko Rudan, with the boys discussing the fit of some of the managerial candidates that have been linked with the job earlier this week (17:11).
Later in the pod, they talk everything Socceroos, first starting with their thoughts on Graham Arnold's latest squad selection for the upcoming qualifiers against Lebanon (34:22), before finishing with an analysis of the comments made by Football Australia Chief Football Officer Ernie Merrick in The Sydney Morning Herald about Australia's Asian Cup performance (43:55).
Stay tuned as the pod returns Monday with our A-League Men review!!
