COVID-19 has surfaced important issues around the fall national elections. This week on VISION, we're continuing our deep-dive into election process for the second part of our "Election Disrupted" series.

As national conversations about voting during a national health crisis continue, critical questions are surfacing: how will we ensure all eligible voters can cast a ballot? What will it take to build a fair, inclusive voting processes during a pandemic?

We'll be joined by Spencer Overton, President of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies and Arturo Vargas, CEO of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials.

They'll lend their insights on the forthcoming election, building inclusive voting practices and ensuring the current crisis doesn't erase the voice of Americans.

Nate Persily, Stanford law professor and campaign expert, speaks with Sam, kicking off a new, four-episode deep dive into the issues surrounding the 2020 election. Persily examined how the current crisis could shape the next national election, and what we can do to prepare.

Renée DiResta, the technical research manager at Stanford Internet Observatory, joined Sam for our last episode on the topic of flattening the infodemic. As an expert on abuse in current information technologies, the spread of malign narratives across social networks, and in policymaking to devise responses to the problem, DiResta contributed to the conversation on flattening the infodemic curve during COVID-19.

The COVID-19 crisis has generated a wave of misinformation that is undermining trust in the media and government institutions. Sam Gill speaks with Dr. Safiya Umoja Noble who is an Associate Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Department of Information Studies where she serves as the Co-Director of the UCLA Center for Critical Internet Inquiry.

Knight’s Sam Gill has special conversation with Vanita Gupta, President and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. Together, they’ll discuss George Floyd’s unjust killing, why this is a moment of reckoning for our country, and how we must begin to move forward as a nation.
