In this episode Matty W. Shares what has worked for him to recover from multiple addictions with multiple and shifting pathways as his recovery has progressed! He has been clean for 6 and a half years and been a CASAC ( Certified Addiction and Substance Abuse Counselor) for 5 years. Matty has some great tools he has used personally and now incorporates with his clients including breath work and meditation. He is a counselor at New Choices in Schenectady, NY and runs several groups at this treatment center along with providing one on one counseling. He has a great story from start to finish with so many great personal insights on his own addictions and why he has dedicated his life to helping other recover as well! Hello Again! In this episode I talk about the weight of gambling addiction and how it feels. I try to explain how gamblers will often without realizing it cross a line into becoming addicted to gambling. The loses, the lies and amounts just keep adding up and before we know it we are carrying such a huge weight on our shoulders. We can’t relieve the weight of this addiction on our own. We need help. Reach out to family members, friends and the recovery community and ask for help. There are so many great resources out there for us to recover!
