TURBO BUTTON - Quick tidbits of news from your boys at The Game Overcast!
Saber Interactive splits from Embracer taking 38 Video Game Projects with it. With at least 38 ongoing game development projects among the divested assets and over 3,000 staff moving across. A number of key studios remain at Embracer including Tripwire, Aspyr and Beamdog.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Sounds a long way away the former boss of Embracer has suggested. As part of the announcement that KOTOR remake developer Saber Interactive had split from Embracer in a deal worth $500 million, Embracer said it was still publishing a number of Saber Games, including “a previously announced AAA game based on a major licence”. This is assumed to be the KOTOR remake.

Final Fantasy 16 Rising Tide DLC has a release date of 18th April 2024. New trailer revealed showing off some of the story content to expand upon Clive’s journey. Will be available to purchase as a separate DLC or part of the FF 16 Expansion Pass.

Spider-Man 2’s Fast Travel system was almost cut because it “totally broke our game”. Insomniac were going to cut the feature as wanted players to explore the map. Made it so players would have to level up a district in order to fast travel.
