  • TGC: 052 Jeff King- The All-In-One Gamer Resource!

Jeff King from All Us Geeks is an UBER resource for gamers.

He runs a geek podcast that does game reviews and shares geek
news, manages the United Geeks Network, does Kickstarter consulting
and voice over work, AND runs a Protospiel event!   I'd write
more about all the stuff he does, but my tired hands can't keep up
    :)  Happy listening!

  • TGC: 050 Cam Adair- What could you do if you didn’t play videogames?

Today's show is about something that I am VERY passionate about-

Goal Achievement.  I talk with Cam Adair, who has unlocked his
potential and career by helping people break their video-game
addiction.  Full Disclosure here, as most of the audience for
this podcast are gamers... I am NOT saying that you shouldn't play
games and nor is Cam.  The point is, videogames create tons of
stimulation for the brain- this stimulation could prevent you from
actually achieving some of the goals you have set for yourself in
    life.

If you want to find out how to get more done and rack up some

Real Life points, this is a must listen to show.

  • TGC: 049 Siena Leslie- Community Manager from Habitica. A game that can change your life!

This is a super fun episode that I had with Siena Leslie, the

Community Manger of Habitica.  I am a big fan of Gamification
Apps... Well, at least I'm a big fan of  the IDEA of them.
I love the idea that games can help us achieve life goals.

Unfortunately, most of the gamification apps I have tried rely

on leader-boards and badges to reward me for stuff that I think is
a pain to do.  Habitica separates itself from the crowd
because you actually PLAY A GAME with character leveling, gear,
special powers etc... The way you "power" your character, however,
is through real life actions. In this way you can play the game and
be productive at the same time (what I think gamification SHOULD
be).  I now use Habitica for my daily project management for
the podcast as well as life goals :)  I'm totally crushing
    it!

This is a great episode that will both get you thinking about

how to be more effective in your life AND give you some direct
opportunities to do so.  Check it out :)

  • TGC: 048 Kim Vandenbroucke- Professional Game Inventor On Spontaneous Creativity

This is an awesome discussion about creativity and game

invention.  Kim Vandenbroucke is a professional game and toy
inventor.  This is a discipline that focuses on the mass
tabletop market with major manufacturers that make the games you
find in walmart.  It is a very different world from the indie
designer/publisher that I am used to.  This is one is a must
    listen, enjoy :)
