The GaptoothDiva Show

GaptoothDiva talks with the producer of an upcoming indie comedy-drama film and entertainment website called “Lost in Sunshine.” The theme of their story is Self Discovery and it features characters who are running away from themselves in multiple ways: workaholism, addiction, staying in familiar, unproductive ruts, and promiscuity.

What sets them apart from other indie films is that they’ve been expanding their story-world via our website for the past two years -

Also Featuring Music By Today’s Artist, David Cash

It’s not many newcomers that can step into the arena spitting with the likes of The Game on their debut single or have their mixtape laced with lyrics specifically provided by J. Cole and Pharrell. But David Cash isn’t your typical wanna’ be artist. The Venice, Cali native on Nu West World Records, is breathing flames into the West Coast rap scene with a style that is infused with heat and fury. His lyrical fire smokes not only the competition, but also any notion that west coast rap is yesterday’s news. The City of Angels has birthed a new rap sun, and David Cash is re-birthing the inferno that started it all!

With his new video release “City of Angels” Cash serves up a visual reminder of why southern Cali is the envy of the rap music scene nationally. Fully laying claim to the concept that ‘Los Angeles is where you wanna’ be,’ Cash pierces our senses with a soundtrack and scenery that captures the essence of the land of La La, from the streets of South Central to the sunny shores of Venice Beach. Native son, The Game joins him in the video, adding credence to the emergence of this rising artist, alongside American Idol beauty Asia’h Epperson who lends a sizzling serenade with the song’s refrain.

.ORGAVIN is a one man, In your face, electronic music artist with a passion for percussion. Dark synth lines and heavy basses accompany harsh lyrics with dynamic soul. His latest Itunes release entitled HyPoLusT is a bass induced Trip through Purest and aggressive

Dub step and down tempo industrial music. His next album will feature his vocal tracks and will be available in this Fall 2011.

Orgavin has been obsessed with making music since He realized he could do it all by himself. Stemming from being in Bands, singing, playing Bass, & lead guitar he wasn’t fulfilled.

Stumbling upon a sound recorder in a store window opened his eyes to possibilities he has never dreamt of. After a couple of years with

messing around with software, he decided to go to school for music. After he learned digital and analog audio recording from the professionals at Omega Studios  in Rockvilll Maryland, he knew he was on his way.

“THE STYLES EXPRESSED VARY FROM WHAT I FEEL TO WHAT SHOULD BE FELT IN ANY SUBJECT OR MOVEMENT IN THE TRACK. EACH ONE IS AN EXPRESSION OF HOW MUSIC CAN EVENTUALLY ENCOMPASS FEELING AND DRIVE Emotion TO THE CLIMAX.”

It’s not about when or how you started, it’s about the heart you put into it! We are giving love to a very ambitious up and coming artist tonight, Carte’ Tragik representing RVA to the fullest. Listen in tonight and learn from the perspective of a rising hip-hop artist on what it takes to stay focused and creative in a world full of people all wanting the same thing… the ears of the masses and a world that will say that they are the best.

Kevin Taylor also known as “carte’ tragik” was born and raised in Richmond Virginia. Carte’ started doing music at the young age of twelve. Ever since then his musical talent grew. Carte’ tragik started in a local group called “Eternal Empire “ The group came out with their very first mix tape “Before We Were Kings” A few years later the group had to change their name to; “da fine us’. Carte’ stayed in the group for a few years until he decided to come out with a solo mix tape called “Carte’ All Day”.

He is beginning to work on his next mix tape “Taylor 1 king”. Everyone that hears Carte’ Tragik music knows its something special about him. He has a different sound about him a new refreshing sound. Carte’ already as a newly solo artist performed in a local bar called “Shotz” and at “1micallmusic” at sky lounge, had his first live interview on “go live radio” then with Dee-I from “Cornerboy Ent in Richmond VA. He is working on more shows and interviews. Carte’ tragic main goal is to reach people all over the world, speak about real life things in his music, make a difference, and make it big in the music industry.

Here at GaptoothDiva.com, I pride myself on my ability to be open minded and accepting of diverse groups of people. However, I feel there are certain things that we shouldn’t have to actively caution ourselves to accept, it should be something organic and natural. I feel that race, gender, class, and Sexual orientation aren’t things we should have to program our brains to accept, it should be a given. Although that is how I would love the world, that is not how our realities are. So pioneers such as J.C. Knudson, are forced to write books to give the world a different perspective on how to be more accepting of different people, especially those in the LGBT community. I couldn’t be more proud and excited to talk with him tonight and discuss how his efforts and the efforts of many others are finally bringing everyone together in an effort to abolish hate.

Joseph “J.C.” Knudson is an author on a mission to educate the world’s population about understanding and accepting people who are gay. His first book, a memoir, is called Living the Difference (2010, Espresso House Publishing). Its subtitle is “An Enlightening Story Revealed For People of All Ages, Straight or Gay.”

Featuring Music by Featured Artist of The Day, Michael Millions

Michael Millions is an American Rapper. Native of Richmond, Virginia; he’s an artist that truly believes in the craft of his work as his work ethic follows suit. Unlike many indie artists striving to be the ‘next big thing’, Michael’s passion does not lie in fame and fortune, but within the artistry that goes into each song/project and how it resonates with his listeners. Michael Millions’ music embodies not only who he is as a rapper, but who he is as an artist and a person.

GaptoothDiva talks about inspiring others through your work with one the fastest rappers in the world, Trent – G “The Messenger”, $10,000 winner on THE STEVE HARVEY’S BIG TIME TV SHOW.

Trent Davis, aka Trent – G “The Messenger”, is from Chicago Illinois. He is a rapper, but different than most. He’s not saying that he is better, but he has a different message that he speaks on. Trent-G is a street gospel motivational and inspirational rapper, that speaks about peace, uplifting yourself & others, and most importantly GOD. He raps about waging war against the devil, and spiritual warfare. Trent used to be a secular rap artist, but something happened to him, and he could not help but change the content of his songs. Even though his music is positive, and speaks about God, etc, it is still street. He says his beats are secular and very hard hitting, but his message is different. Many young people believe in God and listen to secular artist, which is cool. He loves music, but he believes that some young people who listen to secular rappers, etc, would play gospel music while riding in their cars, or even in the club, but afraid that it might run people away, because it may sound too church. This generation of young people will not play traditional gospel, because it’s not their sound, but he has put the word of GOD over hard-hitting beats to give them something to ride to, and yet be ministered to as well. That is why he describes his music as street, hard hitting, and everywhere he goes he sees that the youth love it.
