Jesus knew that his disciples abandoned him and he faced trial all alone. Do you know what it’s like to be abandoned? Jesus, not only sympathizes with you, but was abandoned for you. In this sermon, Joel explores Peter’s denial of Jesus Christ and displays that Jesus is the friend who doesn’t abandon us. Peter’s initial courage quickly fades into a pathetic denial of any activity, knowledge of, or discipleship. Yet, Jesus is the God of compassion who redeems and restores.

Too often we become so busy with living life that we miss the most important thing: the worship of God. Our priorities become misplaced and we fall into spiritual apathy, we give ourselves over to fleshly desire, and our faith in Jesus Christ suffers. Our lacking true worship of God is often the result of these misplaced priorities. In this sermon, Eric Hill explores Haggai 1:1-11. Israel had given themselves over to personal gain, and had forsaken the worship of God. Listen, as God calls us to repentance and to look to him.

With a kiss, Jesus is betrayed. Betrayal comes from an insider in the worst sort of way. In this sermon, Joel Kurz examines the concept of betrayal. What does it mean to betray Jesus today? For Judas, the cost was too high. And for many today, the cost will be too high. As the crowds turn and attack Jesus, will we remain with him? Or will we betray his name? Nobody is immune to the depths of despair. Everyone is searching for hope. Without God’s Word, we have no clue where hope is found. In Christ, we have forgiveness which becomes the foundation for our hope. And so we wait on him, more than watchman wait for the morning, we wait for God.

A Table in the Presence of my Enemies;

Surounded by enemies, Jesus offers deep peace. He is peace. He is betrayed and misunderstood, yet he lays down his life for his people and offers them a Kingdom. True humility. True service. True greatness.
