Nehemiah 3 gives us the account of the various people from the community that helped serve and rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. There were ministers from the religious community, men and women from the business community and people from the political community. It was a joint effort to come together for one purpose. Jesus today calls us to serve one another as modeled it for us. This includes serving our immediate family, our neighbors in Bakersfield as well as our church family. Serving many times causes us to get dirty and sweaty because it involves work! We should not be afraid to get a little sweaty sometimes in order to advance God's kingdom in very practical ways. We invite you to ask the Lord how He is asking you to serve Him through serving others in love.

Serve Wholeheartedly. Jesus served his disciples by pouring water into a basin to wash their feet. His example is our calling. Each one has a special gift and unique assignment to serve others in God's family.
