Wikipedia’s Hate Campaign Against Ayurveda

Alongside Traditional Chinese Medicine, Indian Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest medical systems still widely accepted and practiced today. It has managed to thrive and flourish for at least three millennia and has built up an enormous body of diagnostic methods and treatments for a wide variety of mild to life-threatening illnesses and diseases. Evidence-based medicine has yet to fully explore its riches. Unlike modern conventional medicine that dominates our healthcare, Ayurveda is a “whole” medical system that goes beyond standard disease management, but also incorporates sophisticated ways sustain health, prevent physical disorders as well as balance the body and mind to promote wellness.

We might look at the entry for Ayurveda in a real encyclopedia, the Encyclopedia Britannica. The Britannica notes that approximately 500 million Indians rely upon Ayurveda for their health care. In 1971, the Indian government established standards for Ayurveda education while recognizing the invaluable contributions this ancient medical system has made to prevent and treat a wide variety of diseases. According to statistics recorded by the Association of Ayurvedic Physicians in India, the nation’s largest Ayurveda organization, India is now home to about 250 Ayurvedia colleges and teaching institutions and graduate approximately 12,000 doctors annually. The Association is affiliated with the medical school at Hindu Benares University in Varanasi, often regarded as India’s equivalent to Oxford. It is estimated that across the country, there are nearly 450,000 registered Ayurvedic practitioners.

Ray McGovern served as an Army intelligence officer and a CIA analyst for 27 years under 7 presidential administrations, from John F. Kennedy to George H. W. Bush. Among his duties was preparing the President’s Daily Brief, which was a one-on-one to President Ronald Reagan’s most senior national security advisers.  He was responsible for the analysis of Soviet intelligence regarding Vietnam and served as the Assistant National Intelligence Officer for Western Europe. The Promotion of Scientific Bias on Wikipedia

During the past two years, our investigations into Wikipedia and modern Skepticism, focused primarily upon subjects related to Complementary and Alternative Medicine (e.g., Chiropractic, acupuncture, naturopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine,  homeopathy, etc.), as well as individual practitioners and advocates of these nonconventional medical systems (e.g., Drs. Deepak Chopra, Larry Dossey, David Perlmutter, etc.), has shown extreme bias, distortion of facts, shoddy selection of legitimate references and a systemic effort to conceal from the IRS, Congress and the media what we believe is institutional corruption.  Furthermore, during this period, we have composed and disseminated over 50 articles to deconstruct Wikipedia and its Skeptic editors. Much of this same information has been sent to Wikipedia's co-founder Jimmy Wales and the Wikimedia Foundation Board members.

Equally important, based upon the data and evidence, the character assassination of entire groups of health practitioners, likely numbering in the tens of thousands, represents in our opinion a crime against humanity. Why? Because there are thousands of studies published in the peer-reviewed literature that prove that the image Wikipedia attempts to convey to the public is grossly wrong.  Even products such as pesticides, genetically modified foods, and chemicals in common household products that international health bodies have declared as carcinogenic or the cause for serious illness, are routinely whitewashed on Wikipedia.

At the same time, Wikipedia editors who control many of the health pages, condemn, ridicule and vilify with animus the scientific conclusions that show alternative medical therapies can prevent and reverse life-threatening diseases. In fact, these editors have become so brazen, they brag about their skills and success in targeting living persons to destroy their reputations.
